It was yet another bright, EARLY morning for mother and daughter. Much to her mother's dismay, Lyana still refused to sleep any later then sunrise, which meant she was dragged out of peaceful sleep way before she was ready. Lyana also refused to go to sleep before midnight, making matters worse. Ruby shook her weary head. How DID Lyana have so much energy all of the time? She barely closes her eyes at night!

The filly, however, was oblivious to her mother's plight. Lyana raced along the sand dunes, purposefully kicking up great clouds of dust as she went. "Hey guess what! I found a stick! Seeseesee?" She grasped the stick in her teeth and pranced proudly in a circle.

Thankfully, Reyla was not as bad as her energetic sister. Abhay paced towards the watering hole as his daughter playfully pranced around. The sun had just touch the horizon when Abhay had set out while his daughter slept in for a few moments longer.

The charcoal stallion had just reached the open gate when the cry from the yurt sliced the calm air: "DADDY! WWWWAAAAAAAIIIIIIIITTT!!!!" A little bolt of black and brown rushed by him in a paniced state; the little gal hated being by herself.

Ruby's ears pricked as she heard a familiar squeal. They were not far from the gathering of yurts yet, as Ruby was still trying to coax her weary limbs to carry her away from the place. If only she could sleep and rest... She pushed the way the thought. She would do anything for her daughters, no matter how much they (especially Lyana) tired her. Even if it meant waking up ridiculously early every morning.

The cry had also caught the attention of Lyana, who paused in midstep. "IT'S REYLA AND DADDY!" She shouted with glee around the stick and then she was off, racing across the sand towards the cry like her life depended on it. She continued to hold on to her stick the whole time. Ruby had no choice but to follow.

Hoofbeats, muffled by the cool sands, caused Abhay to glance upwards with his ears pricked foreward. He gave a soft nicker at the shadowy form of his daughter and beloved before prancing foreward in a proud, parade-like walk.

Reyla gave a squeaky whicker at her sisters' squeal before dashing foreward towards the to shadows. Her father was showing off again for mommy, but he always did that. She threw up clouds of sand as she finally reached her sister who, weirdly enough, had a....stick...in her mouth. Stopping, she cocked her head and cast a confused look at Lyana.

Lyana reached the pair first. She practically screeched in delight, hopping around her father's legs. "Hihihi!" she said, getting too close and accidentally poking Abhay with the stick. "Oops, sorry daddy!" Then the excited filly was off again, reaching her lighter-coloured sister in a cloud of sand. "Look what I found! It's a magic stick!"

The mare smiled as Abhay approached her. She knew he was showing off for her, but she didn't say anything. She liked it when he showed off for her. Ruby greeted him with a smile and a playful tug at his mane. "Good morning, Abhay. Out early, as usual?"

"A magic stick?! I wanna play with it!" Stumbling foreward, Reyla grabbed at the other end of the stick and started tugging at it. It was all with playful intentions between the two fillies.

Ahbay snorted and reared up slightly as the sharp end of the wood prodded him in the side; thankfully, he managed not to hit any of his family as he settled down. He heaved a sigh as the dark-colored filly raced off to play tug-o-war with Reyla. "Yes Ruby, yet it looks like you got up earlier than I.....Lyana hasn't broken her early-bird habits yet?" He nickered and nuzzled Ruby as she tugged at his mane.

"Hey, I want to try it out first! I still don't know what it does but I found it!" Lyana pulled on her end of the stick playfully, digging her little hooves into the sand for more strength. Seeing the two fillies playing "tug-of-war" with the stick was a rather comical sight.

"I don't know how Lyana has so much energy, with her sleeping habits... She has enough energy for three fillies," Ruby sighed, resisting the urge to yawn. "I can't wait until she can be left alone for a little while. Not that I WANT to leave her alone, mind you." She nuzzled Abhay's shoulder lovingly. "How's Reyla been?"

"But! Um.......Younger si-bi-blings get to try anything out first!" Stumbling over the word she had heard the humans use yesterday, Little Reyla mimiced her sisters' method of pulling on the stick, yanking as hard as she could on her end.

Abhay snorted and arched his neck over Rubys', showering her with love and affection. "Reyla....isn't as bad as Lyana it sounds like. She just doesn't like it when I leave her side, even for a second." He blew softly into Rubys' neck before nuzzling into her mane. "Think of it this way love......if we think these two are bad, imagine what a pair of colts would have been like?"He pulled away slightly and stared at his mate with a merry twinkle in his brown eyes.

"But... but... Hey what's that?" The distracted little Lyana suddenly dropped her end of the stick and eyed something in the distance. The filly could never pay attention to something very long at once. "Oh, hey! Give that back!" she squealed at her sister, realizing she wasn't holding the stick anymore.

"It must be nice that Reyla doesn't run away at a moment's notice. Lyana loves to run!" Ruby gave a good-natured laugh before she gave the stallion a sly look. "Colts? With you as the father?" Her expression was replaced with one of mock horror.

"Huh? What's what?" Reyla glanced in the direction that Lyana was looking before the situation presented itself; her sister had freed the magic stick! Finders keepers!
"YYYAAAAAYYYYYY! MY STICK!" With that said, the brown and black filly scampered off off with her new toy clutched tightly between her teeth.

Snickering at Rubys' look, Abhay slapped on a look of mock sadness, complete with limp ears and a clouded look in his eyes. "Come now....you...you don't think i'll be a good father?" He 'sniffled' a bit before looking up at his mare with great, big puppy-dog eyes.

"ButIwantit!" Lyana cried as she chased after her sister. She caught up and bit at one end, holding on to a scant piece of wood between her teeth. her red-hued legs carried her as fast as they could go, which was pretty fast. "it's MINE!"

Ruby giggled and puffed air into one of Abhay's ears before playfully nipping at his mane. "Oh, it not that you aren't a great father, but if those colts took after you..." She laughed and pranced away, swinging her elegant head and neck. "I'd never have any peace and quiet!" Then her hazel eyes glanced at her squealing daughters. "What are they doing? They better not go too far."

"NNNNNNNUUUUUU! MINE!" Reyla, while keeping up the fast pace the two were traveling at, clamped down harder on her side of the stick. Both fillies practically flew across the yurt yard.

Abhay gave a gruff snort at the ticklish feeling and reaches out to n** at Ruby in return. Eyes sparkling, he pranced towards the elegant mare; ears perked he reached out to n** her mane. "Perhaps, but would they be any different that how Lyana is acting now?"

Brown eyes glanced up at the squeals, following his mates hazel gaze, Abhay watched as the two raced away from the lighted area. "I hope they don't go far. Also....some of the others may not..uh...appreciate being woken up by two rouge fillies."

"MINEMINEMINE!" Lyana retorted, giving the stick sharp little tugs. In her haste she stumbled over her own long legs, but continued to bite down for dear life. An irritated snort could be heard as the fillies whizzed by a yurt where the occupants were just beginning to wake.

"S-should we follow them?" Ruby asked Abhay, a small trace of worry creeping into her voice. "We might need to apologize a few times on their behalf..." In reality the mare didn't really care about waking the others up. She wanted to follow so she could keep an eye on her fillies. What if one stepped on a poisonous snake, or fell down an open well, or...

"MINEMINEMINEMINEMINE!!" Reyla responded by tugging on her own side of the stick as dust clouds, thrown up from their running, clouded their path. Some of the elder horses grumbled in annoyance at the two fillies, casting glares at Ruby and Abhay.

Abhay gave a snort of alarm; his daughters were running straight towards the fence that seperated the Mustangs from the Arabians. Tossing his head, motioned for Ruby to follow. "We have to stop them! They're going to get hurt!" With that said, the black stallion galloped off after his children.

The filly held onto the stick in a vice grip, refusing to let her sister have it. "MIIINE!" she whinnied shrilly, pulling relentlessly at the wood and beginning to peel the bark off. She wasn't a very observant filly, so she didn't even see the fence coming towards them.

Ruby followed her mate, ears back in fear for her fillies. Who knew what the mustangs would do to them if they slipped through the fence? Running right smack into it wouldn't be good, either. She kept only a few steps away from Abhay, shouting apologies to any horse that happened to be listening.
