Yeah, I was just kidding. I've got the entire story set up already, sooo..... here we are.

Morgan grabbs her blade and helps out Rowland. Rowland and her team up on Malus, while Ryuu fights Shadow.

As Rowland and Malus fight in a whirlwind of blades, fists and feet that is barely perceptible, Shadow and Ryuu duel with a ferocity borne of desperation.

For Ryuu, it is his desire to prove himself to Vash' memory, to live up to the title of the wielder of Acchenar. For Shadow, it is the knowledge that each of these soulbound blades has a devestating, possibly fatal effect on the other's wielder; the slightest hit from either blade may kill the other.

Ryuu, while dismayed by the fact that the sword does not glow with the same fierce light that it possessed in Vash's hands, nevertheless fights with a skill that startles Shadow. For every thrust and cut that Shadow doles out, Acchenar is there to parry or counter with a slash of it's own. Ryuu's incredible acrobatics don't make the battle any easier. Shadow whips his blade down and right, aiming a sweeping cut at Ryuu's legs....and it cuts air as Ryuu backflips, hits the ground with his hands, and vaults back with a spring-kick that sends Shadow off balance. Ryuu thrusts Acchenar viciously forward, but Shadow sidesteps-barely-and comes back with an overhan chop that Ryuu dodges with difficulty.

Easing into a fighting stance, Ryuu circles with Shadow, their blades out at their respective sides.

"You present a challenge, young man," Shadow remarks, cracking his icy smile. "I haven't faced a foe this good since Saint Dunstan."

Ryuu didn't return the smile. "You'll never face another opponent again after this day," he says.

"We'll see about that," Shadow retorts. Then, amazingly, he leaps straight up in the air. Ryuu looks up..... and is greeted Winter's Edge, it's cruel blade digging into his shoulder.

Shadow angles his fall. Better to injure the boy and let him die a slow death, he thinks, then to....

His thoughts are interrupted by the sensation of a familiar blade burying itself in his side.

Morgan picks up Malus's head. She puts his head on a stick and shuves it into the ground for all to see.
"We have defeated Malus!"

At this point Ryuu and Shadow are both unconscience, so Morgan and Rowland pull them off the battle field.

Morgan puts a hot cloth on his head, and some bandages on his sholdier.

"Sir lay still. Yuo are baddly injored and you need your rest."

"Shadow is not dead, my lord," Rowland says as he enters the tent. " He fell by your blade, but like you he was dragged off by his troops."

Rowland growls. "However," he says, "we have vanquished his high general."

"Yes Sir." Morgan said and did what he told her to do.

((Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice.....sorry, I'm odd this morning))
((Guys, by the way, for the sake of making things easier for me, I'm writing things in past-tense now.))

Shadow felt a searing pain in his side. He couldn't move, yet he could distinctly feel wind rushing through his hair, could hear the shuffling feet of legionnaires......

Oh. Now he remembered. Ryuu, plunging Acchenar in his side..... Rowland the wolf-man taking off Malus' head in a stroke.....

He tried to move, but a firm hand pushed him back down. "Do not move, my lord, I beg you," the unmistakeable voice of Hayrkonen said breathlessly. "You are badly wounded.

Shadow nodded.....and fell back into darkness.
