I'd like you to pick a song, any song, and then write a story based on the meaning you get from that song. I do not want the song to be a part of the story, only the inspiration behind it. There is a minimum word count of 200 words and no maximum word count. Just keep in mind the amount of prize money. I'd hate for some one to right a novel and only get 1k.
Grammar is a big thing for me. I know I'm not perfect, but if the grammar is really bad I probably won't read past the first paragraph. Other then that I'll be judging on creativity and use of the song's meaning.
Post your entries here as well as PMing them to me. Please include a link to the song lyrics (I often use LetsSingIt.com) as well a a sentence or two on your interpretation of the song, just so that if our interpretations differ I know where you're coming from.
I personally don't like rap, but I understand many songs still have excellent meanings. However, I do not want stories that are entirely about drugs, pointless violence and sex. It can include these things, but it should have a deeper meaning.
