This guild started out as/and as right now now still is, a role-playing guild. But, seeing as how we only have two active roleplays, both started by Aeonis, with one of them them that is "successful", and the other one that is slowly moving along.(With only 3 people in it.) I think we should change the type of guild to something else. I would like to hear your ideas before I give you mine. So...1.2.3....go!!!

I've already seen it, Amber.
I would actually be able to help the guild grow even more if this new layout weren't slowing my computer down so horribly. If we were to classify it as General, maybe that would help. However, I can't efficiently set the gears in motion until Gaia fixes the problem with its servers.
On the note of RPs: again, I could participate in them more and set an example if my computer wasn't being clogged down with crap files that Gaia keeps putting into my cache. When it comes down to it, I'm relying on everyone else in the guild to keep it active while I wait for Gaia to exterminate the bugs.

Etenity Alright, I suppose I should start off by introducing myself. My name is Etenity, I have been a Guild owner for the better part of a year, maybe more, and I am a new member of the Captain's Guild. But now down to the real reason that I made this thread.

Well, I was sitting here, browsing Gaia and my Guild: Sin With Me My Secret Love, and realized that what goes on there is pretty uneventful. I mean there are the few, regular posters and roleplayers, but other than that, the incoming member rate is rather slow and out of those... 95% of them end up inactive anyway. I felt that that was rather unacceptable. Like all Guild owners I am very adamant about finding ways to attract new members and keep them active and interested in the guild.
So I proceeded to ask some of the ACTIVE members what they thought would bring in more Gaians. One member in particular, being a current or former Guild owner himself gave me a whole plethora of tips and suggestions. And because of that, it gave me an idea that I would like for ALL OF YOU to give me your opinions on.

ADVERTISING: We all know that that is one of the most crucial and important parts of attaining new members, but it is also one of the most difficult tasks as well. There is the issue of creating unique, eye-catching, and attractive ads to lure Gaians in, but what really works? Sure there are banners and hired guild bumpers and let's not forget word of mouth, but what else?
There is IN GUILD AFFILIATION ADVERTISING. But what if we could take that to the next level!
THE IDEA:
I propose some sort of MASSIVE GUILD NETWORK SCAVENGER HUNT.
~This would entail the enlisting of at least 50 or more participating Guilds.
~There would be different rounds of the HUNT that all Gaians can participate in.
~The Hunt would effectively lead the players through the Guilds in search of some sort of object, word, or clue that will lead them on to another guild and another... etc.
~In going through all these steps they work for some sort of ending prize and through the process have had a chance to look through and check out each of the Guilds, potentially luring new members and spreading the word about the hunt to other Gaians to get them to participate.

I think that with a good amount of planning and participation from the Guilds, it could greatly benefit the large as well as the small guilds trying to make better of what they have.
So here is the question. If something of THIS effect were to be done, would you as Captains want to participate? And if so, post any and all ideas for how it could be set up and potential prizes and things to make it appealing.

I just want them to rewrite the guild system. Fleep told me it was probably a big project after Battle System and Marketplace Re-Write.
