Some say Geniuses have limits beyond reason, whereas stupid people don't have any limits whatsoever. I am here to compare being a genius and or stupid person to driving two cars over a cliff.
The genius is the first car, limited and alert. The first car notices that he/she are heading towards a cliff and, since he/she are limited, stops right before tumbling over to their creative deaths.
The second car, however, is stupid and rightfully so, cause it doesn't have limits and, therefore, plunges over the cliff.
In conclusion, stupid people drive their cars over cliffs, 'cause they have no boundaries in life, and Genuises don't drive their cars over cliffs, 'cause they do. Plain and simple.

Here's a twist on your comparison. Instead of a cliff, there's a fork in the road.
The left path leads into a tunnel. It probably involves much hardship to get through it, but there is very likely some sort of light at the end.
The right path leads down a calm valley. It promises happiness in the immediate future, yet the distant future is very uncertain. It could either lead, as you said, off a cliff, or possibly to a light that seems to shine twice as bright as the light most likely at the end of the left tunnel. There's even a small hope of all of a person's wildest dreams becoming realities.
A "genius" would almost immediately go left, not willing to take a risk.
A "stupid person" would stubbornly go right, feeling that he/she is simply living life to the fullest.
Yet someone in the middle of "genius" and "stupid" would be haunted by the fork in the road, fearing that he/she may regret either choice for the rest of his/her life.

So in other words, you'd take the left path.
And Choose Your Own Adventure books rule the world, by the way. Or at least they would if video games ever died. (Gasp!)

Do you hate my mask, Nick?
Are you racist against my mask, Nick?

Actually, it's a good thing that it is black. And it's good that your robe is red. If both your robe and your mask were white, then that might just be suggesting something.
Or it could just mean you're a ghost. I'm not sure.

I'd most likely be a ghost, since, you know, my mask isn't pointed at the top.
