Ok I been wondering this a long time,
and JKR did not say anythintg about it in the book, and gosh knows I'm
so scared to ask her and then her saying "NO".
So I'm just going to say yes in my mind and feel so much better.
But anyways..
Severus Snape was a headmaster...when headmasters die they
get a portrait in the headmaster office.
What do you think?
I honestly can see him chatting with Dumbledor and yelling at
random students that wake him up. XD

JKR said in an interview that Harry would have made sure that Severus got his portrait up. :D

Snape lived what few men dared to dream, and all he got in return was a picture that soemhow is him but isn't... ...Wait... Are the portraits possessed by ghosts of the people they are painted of and that's why they talk? I DON'T GET EET!!! >.<

I would suspect that death or not, a headmaster or headmistress would get a portrait at the end of his or her term, seeing as they are all previous in one way or another. stare
Portraits are magical like nearly everything else in the wizarding world, Lestat. It would be logical for them to have the knowledge and personailty of those they represent, judging both by how Phineas Black and Dumbledore reacted.
I wonder if any of the Hogwarts Founders have their portriats up. They should.

I'm sure that Professor Snape did get his portrait on the wall, but what I was wondering though is what the hell happened to the Dursleys? i mean, they were exposed to the wizarding world more than they had ever been before && Dudley has shown that he's more accepting of wizards. Could he have possibly gotten a job in the Ministry as a representative for muggles? Uncle Vernon might have allowed it b/c of his belief in the establishment as harry said. i dunno, i'm just kinda curious what happened to them b/c in the end, it seems and JKR juist cant leave me hanging! i must know EVERYTHING! hahaha i didnt hate them or anything, i just thought that they were a nuisance at ttimes, butttt they sure helped Harry out after all =] always appreciate the good people do, and try to avoid magnifying the bad as Rita Skeeter did.

I dont think that Snape was headmaster long enough to get a portrait... and for all of you people who think that Snape is not dead be cause he didn get a portrait, you need to get over it and accept that he is dead. Dont get me wrong, I cried for like an hour when he died, I LOVE him, but he would have been mentioned in the epilogue if he was alive.

I think that he did get a portrait, he was the headmaster for about a year that should've been long enough to get one. A Headmaster is still a headmaster even though it was a short time. I wish that JK did more with the story. Harry would've done something very special for Snape's funeral if she did, he admired him at the end. Snape should have a grave right next to Dumbledore's on Hogwarts grounds. But even if he didn't get a portrait he still had a child named after him for being a great Headmaster. I would like some more things answered by JK but until then I'm still going to hold on to my beliefs. heart

Seeing as Snape was Headmaster for the full year, and was not a fill-in for part of the year (i.e. Umbridge), I am quite sure that his picture would be added to the gallery of Headmasters. There would be quite a few people in Harry's generation and the Hogwarts staff at that time that would make sure that such an honor would be fulfilled, I bet.
