Not sure whether this should be in the Doctor Who thread or not, but this could become the rumour thread if so desired...
Anyway, getting to the real reason for this thread, the rumours that David will leave Doctor Who halfway through Series Four have been officially confirmed as FALSE!!! This was posted on David's website about an hour and a half ago, and I will be getting DWM tomorrow to read it myself.
23/08/2007, 13:20pm BST David To Stay On As The Doctor It has been officially confirmed that David will be playing the Doctor for the entire run of Series Four of Doctor Who. When asked if the constant tabloid rumours that David would be quitting the show halfway through the next series were true, Russell T Davies told the latest issue of DWM: "No, he's doing the whole series. It was never even discussed that he might leave after six episodes. That's completely invented by the papers." So you can all breathe easily now! wink

I honestly think that this is his last season, though. He's signed on to do Hamlet...I know I read that somewhere. I can't find it at the moment, but I swear it wasn't The Sun.

I know. Apparently the RSC will announce that officially next month. He could still do Series Five. It just depends on when the run of Hamlet is.

I have heard a rumour that he is staying in Doctor Who until 2009. Not sure about if it's true or not though....

That fits in with a dream I had back in March, in which I saw newspaper headlines from June 13, 2009.

Ceribri @katy - what was the dream about? I dreamt I saw a newspaper (not sure which one) with the headline "Who's Next? Speculation starts as Tennant confirms quit". It was dated June 13, 2009, which would mean the end of Series Five. And bearing in mind I have predicted stuff in dreams before, I'd like to see if it happens. Not that I want David to leave!! But when he announces it, come back to this thread and see if I'm right.

Tennant hits the stage People August 30, 2007 • Posted By Jarrod Cooper The Royal Shakespeare Company have announced their 2008 line-up, which features David Tennant in two roles. From July 24th until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be starring in the title role in Hamlet, alongside Patrick Stewart playing Claudius. Fans of the new series will also be excited to note that from October 2nd until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be playing Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost. Love's Labour's Lost was a major plot point in Series 3 episode The Shakespeare Code. People, not the Sun. I found this on Outpost Gallifrey.

The latest rumour comes after comments from Catherine Tate on the Jonathan Ross show on Radio 2. She said Quote: I think maybe this could be David's last series. I'm hoping this isn't true, but if it is, she was bang out of order. If David IS leaving, it's for him to tell everyone, not Catherine. We've still got him for the 2009 specials, though, so the way I'm looking at it, regardless of my post about the dream, is one of those is a Christmas Special. They wouldn't ruin everyone's Christmas by regenerating the Doctor. And I did say the end of Series Five in the dream, so...
