Okay, I wanted to do this independant of the newsletter, because I know hardly anyone reads it, and this is really important.
GCW october promotion!
Run from 1st October to 7th November.
This was an idea made by myself and Zenai (who has finally been promoted to crew. He had it coming for ages). For all of October, and the first week of November, we will be holding a promotional festival for the guild. There will be one central massive tournament contest and several other contests run by you!
Great offers on joining the guild
The aim of the festival is to promote the guild. To that end, the guild will be switched to public mode for the duration of the contest, and for the first week only, entry will be free. That should reel people in! Remember, joining the Guild is not compulsary to enter the contests, but this is a promotion so it pays to encourage it!
Tournament to give over 20,000 gold's worth of prizes!
The central event of the festival will be a tournament in which the top prize is 10,000 gold, and the prizes for the two runner-ups is 5,000 gold each. There will also be other neat prizes. We're relying on this to be the one that attracts attention to the festival, and therefore to the other contests.
The idea is that the tournament will have five contests within it. In each round, competitiors will have to complete certain challenges, and some will be wiped out in every round, until there are only three in the final round. In every round except for the first, there will be consolation prizes.
The duration of the contest will contain some very important dates: Hallowe'en, Guy Fawkes Night, my brother's birthday... Anyway, it's a very good time. We're not holding it in September because lots of people will be busy after returning to school, and we need time to advertise anyway.
Calling for voulenteers!
People, this contest needs YOU! I'm in need of volenteers to run side-contests, and I also need four people to run the tournament. I'm having every round run by a different person (except for the final round, which will be run by me), so if you're interested in running a round then PM me (and also those of you who've already voulenteered).
Oh, and those of you who voulenteer to help with the tournament can still enter it, you just need to have someone else judge your entry to your own contest.

You didn't think I wouldn't give you something in return, did you? People who run contests get free entry to the tournament, and also their contest banner will be paid for by myself. Just tell Zenai I'm going to pay for it.
Like I said, remember to PM me if you want to voulenteer, even if you've already told me.
I need donations!
So far I've got about 2500 gold in donations. That leaves 17,500 gold coming out of my own pocket, so please help in any way you can!
Oh, and remember... ADVERTISE!

I'll be setting up a special section for HWF Banners in the Support Our Guild! thread. Please give me any ideas you might have there. I want these banners to be the best they can be to attract attention to the guild.

I like the themes idea. Halloween is coming up quick, maybe have a halloween banner ready or something, idk lol.

This sounds awesome. Since Halloween has been mentioned, I thought I would mention it as well. I was thinking that we usually read/hear of halloween stories taking place here and are "horror" stories.....which I'm starting to get bored of. Halloween started as the celebration of the new year and of the harvest. So....I dunno, just throwing it out there.....cause I can.

Maybe someone with good flashanimation skills can make a mini commercial that could be used as banners: animated stick figure one writes something, animated stick figure two writes something as well, then the two get into it, and then a big block (labeled writer's block) falls onto both of them. Then a flash of our guild's name shows up under 'writer's block'.....good idea??? I could do it if I wasnt about to start college and had the right tools...

I know I was in the Flash club at school, but the student teachers. . . sucked. . . domokun I spent that time playing with fireworks, that's why I kick a** with it whee With fireworks doing something with that much movement would take forever sad

I use to have some knowledge on flash, if I can find that program I used before, I might be able to animate some stickmans.
