<TRAINING NEW SPORTS-ELVES Yesterday, Magnús Scheving greeted new Sports-elves that are supposed to take the part of the hero. Big and hard training sessions were held in Listdansskóli Íslands's (a fancy name for the Ballet school of Iceland) tenement by Engjateig and Magnús controlled them like only he can do. See pg. 30>

The article:

And in English (aren't I great?):

New Sportselves See The Light of Day

"This is a whole world," says Magnús Scheving when he gives himself a little time for a short chat after having showed us a few tricks on the dancefloor of Listdansskóli Ísland's (Ballet school of Iceland) that's stationed by Engjateig. A whole day has been spent on introducing Lazytown to the new Sports-elves to make them realize that this isn't just some television program from a little country in the North-Atlantic Ocean but something much more. Fréttablaðið (The name of the newspaper) was allowed to watch the training camp for the new Sports-elves, that was of course run by Magnús himself.

Magnús says goodbye as Sportacus

Magnús Scheving has for fourteen years controlled the company behind Lazytown with untiring work, build it nearly up from scratch and no job was so impossible that he couldn't do it. Incident to it he's been dressed in the near inhumanly hot costume of Sportacus and cavorted between the continents but at the same time given himself time to sign million-television contracts with big companies and TV giants like BBC.
Now Lazytown is so big that Magnús has to step down from his role as the Sports-elf and focus even more on the growth of Lazytown. And let other brave men take care of educating children about the importance of healthy exercise and nourishment. It's obviously important to him that his successors will be no average Joes, but places big demands on them.

Julian from Britain and James Royce Edwards from USA watch amazed when Magnús runs from one room to another in the headquarters of Lazytown in Garðabær (It's a rather ugly building in my opinion). Julian will be playing Sportacus in a Lazytown show that will be set up on West End but James on the other hand will be specially a Sportacus in the USA. Magnús explains to them what his role is in the production. "Here I direct the shows, run up those stairs [that are quite steep] to look at the scene, then I go and cut it, dub it and get myself something to eat at the same time. And then there's controlling the company of course, " Magnús tells Julian and James, that are obviously relived that they're "only" going to play Sportacus but not take the role of Magnús himself for a whole day.

The future is bright

And in spite of the evidently last television series, soon to be aired in over hundred countries, it's still far from over. There's now already a Lazytown show (play?) shown for a full house in a few countries in South-America and aforementioned show/(play?) in/on West End in London soon, but Lazytown is really popular there.

Last but not least there's the big trump, a movie in full length. Magnús didn't want to tell us much about the movie but the plan is to start shooting next year.
"We're finishing the financing now and therefore I don't want to talk much about the status of the project"
Fréttablaðið's sources say that many big names in Hollywood have shown interest in this and that this will be much bigger and extensive than the tv shows themselves.

And when Magnús steps on the dance floor in Engjateig it's evident that he's not going to let go of Sportacus until he's completely satisfied. He dances the steps with the new Sports-elves to the big hit 'Bing Bang' and watches closely in the mirror to see if the successors are definitely fallowing him. The day, that started as soon as the sun was up, is just beginning and ahead are non-stop practices so that the role of the Sports-elf is definitely in the right hands.

And the pictures :3 love me!

FIMM, SEX og HOPP Magnús gaf hinum ungu ekkert eftir og lét sér fátt um finnast að hoppa með fæturna upp í loftið oftar en einu sinni.
<FIVE, SIX and JUMP Magnús was no slower than the young ones and thought nothing of jumping with the feet in the air more then once.>

<Thoughtful Magnús has for fourteen years donned the costume of Sportacus but now it's time for others to take over.>

They should just make the new sports elf #11, instead of having another Sportacus. That'd make a little bit more sense.

(They should make Steph the next sports hero. It'd ake a bit more sense in the plot....maybe)

OH GOD. DID ANYONE ELSE'S EYES BEGIN TO WATER WHEN THEY READ THIS?!

BECAUSE MINE SURE DID.

I will never be happy again.

Actually, I think you just might be onto something! It'd be one way to deal with Julianna growing up--just make her #11! (And it'd be nice if they brought Stingy's UK voice actor into the US version as well.)

I don't really blame him.
He is kinda too old for this and he never intended to play the Sports elf in the first place *shrug*
This way he can focus more on the making of Lazy Town and the company :3

He did make a fine Sportacus though.

True. I mean, I can definitely understand his reasons. But I still have questions... Will there be a new Sportacus for the movie itself? And if there is going to be both a British and an American Sportacus, what does that mean for Julianna? Will she work with both actors, or will they bring in a second Stephanie, too? surprised My thoughts have been dwelling on this for the past week, and I'd like to get y'all's thoughts on it...
