I had a my Monkee moment today. My hubby bought me a scooter (Vespa-like not Razor) for my Birthday and I road it for the first time today. All I could think about when I was first trying to get it going was the scooter scene from the opening credits!

My dad and I were looking through the classifyed ads for me a car and I was telling him what I want, the converstation went something like this:
Me: Dad, I want a '65 poniac GTO, it has to be red and i want the motor on top of the car, you know how the monkees had it--
Dad: That was plastic, theres' no way you could get a real motor on the hood like that
Me: I don't care, but it also has to have the same brand of tires that the monkees used and it has to be kind of a bage color for the interor, and most of all it has to say MONKees on the side.
Dad:.....are you going to pay for all this??
Me: No, you are!
biggrin

I had one today. I'm in the color guard at my school and we open up our second song with a tambourine dance. Immediately, I went into Davy's stylistic tambouring from 'I'm a Believer'...no one got it.

LOL I have a Save the Texas Prairie Chicken button somewhere! smile
I still say "Do fish swim?" instead of "duh" sometimes wink Oh and I have a tendency to say "groovey" a lot too.
Yay for Davy dancing smile That's always fun! Of course, doing the Monkee walk in downtown Chicago is even more fun! (yes I have done that. Right in front of Hard Rock Cafe)

I started doing the Davy dance at a party once... people looked at me weird (of course). My mom just shook her head and said "you are your Grandmother's twin" It was great. xd
