Okay... For and introduction: I'm a white chick with a natural afro. I'm not even kidding. My mom has the Russian curls and my dad's hair's really thick... and they made an afro with me, totally natural. I've never had anything serious done to it.
That is, until now.
I'm planning on getting dreadlocks. All my friends, and even some of my teachers, think it'd be ******** pissa. I've already got a hair appointment set up to get them. The kind I'm getting aren't like rope, either. They're called two strand twists, and they're smaller, prettier, and I CAN take them out if I really want to.
My mom promised she'd let me have them, but she's been showing a lot of disdain for the idea essentially because she claims the world will take me less seriously. Why? Basically, she says the real world is racist. >.> I'd like to point out that racism, as a whole, is dying. Yes, there are still racist people and always will be, but there's not many anymore.
(EDIT: Also, bear in mind that my mom is racist, homophobic, and Islamophobic. She just denies it for publicity's sake.)
Also, she says that random black people on the street will think I'm stupid. By 'random black people,' I'm assuming she meant 'gangstas.' Well, they're stupid, anyway, so why bother with them? That would make THEM the racist ones in this situation. Besides, how can a hair style make you smart or stupid? The fact is, it can't.
So.. opinions? No ad hominems, please (not that I expect any from the NIPG, but still.)
Oh, and I'm still getting them no matter what the ******** you say.

Ah, right. Irrelevant, but shweet. You can have your head cut off by things other than a guillotine, though. You can be beheaded with a sword or something.

Well, of course you can, however a political offence would likely have gotten you sent to the guillotine before anything else. Other forms of beheadings are largely Asian and slightly more outdated than the French method.return 0;

Oh, dear god, I don't feel alive...
Another thing, my hair is short, so I need hair extensions if the dreads are going to work. My mom thinks hair extensions make you bald, but this here debunks it....when you're cut short of misery.
