I presonally am a big fan of this couple. What do all of you think?

GRRRRR.
They're cute together... but what about Batou? D;
I have a soft spot for the Big guy.

But... it really did make me sad when Kuze died. ;__;

It's no wonder why the Major left Section 9 after the whole incident. :C

I like Batou a lot, it's just I'm not so sure about them as a couple. Motoko and Kuze have known each other for such a long time and they both have obvious feelings for each other. I'm not against Batou in any way, I just think they should be more friends. Hideo deserves Motoko more, in my opinion.

I'm more of a Batou x Motoko fan to be honest. However I agree with Pandemon, the Kuze death scene was very sad. Makes me wonder what would have happened had he lived.

No thanks. I've never been a fan of Hideo. Was not even sad when he died...

The main episode concering the two's past was Affection. And I think that title explained it all, they cared for each other in a platonic way. They were able to share a common grief of loseing their family, and common experiences of full cyberization at a young age, as well as the common hope of each other living so they in their subconscious know they aren't alone. Yet *points at episode title* IMO the title cleary states the realationship purpose as being purely platonic.

If Hideo had surived and the two got to know each other at a higher level, instead of just the boy-girl only survivors plane crash relationship, then maybe the relationship between them would move from platonic love to romantic love. Yet that would make my MotokoXBatou fangirl heart spontaneously combust. burning_eyes
