I'm curious about the name of this subtopic. It's supposed to talk about reincarnation, but I haven't seen a specific thread about it.
Therefore, I would like to hear your opinions on the subject.
So, I would like to begin a little survey:

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
What are the rules of this phenomenon?
How are Karma and reincarnation related?
Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
What else do you know about it?

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
I think that reincarnation is the soul leaving one physical body at death and then entering another physical body to live another life.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
That depends on the tradition. The New Age perspective seems to be that you die, review your life and karmic cycle, choose your next life, then reincarnate (usually without memory of the past life or the inbetween).

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
It seems that we reincarnate to settle karmic debt which is accumulated by going against our dharma (I think? Blind Guardian would probably be a better person to ask about this). We reincarnate to learn our karmic lessons, eliminate our debt, and rid ourselves of the need to physically incarnate.

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
I believe in the possibility of reincarnation, but as of now I have no definitive opinion. I will say that I feel if I don't "ascend" spiritually that it's likely I'll have to try again, but even that I'm unsure of.

What else do you know about it?
It's a part of many spiritual systems and is prevalent in many cultures. It is a way to assure oneself of their immortality.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
I think that reincarnation is when "the essence" of someone eventually gets "placed" again to someone else...
Oh, I'll explain more on the next one:

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
I think that the main idea of reincarnation is that... you die, some things might happen or not, but technically eventually you end up in another physical form when it's born.

I don't think there really are any bounds to that, actually. Something dies, something else is born. sweatdrop

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
I personally think that they are both not exactly related...

One could argue they are, but I would think it would just be karma acting on you, even though you're technically dead, if you reincarnated as something not particularly pleasant.

By that, I mean that some beliefs would think that if you were a mean person or some such, I can't remember the specifics, you would be reincarnated as some sort of insect. Then again I've also heard one that "higher up" on the scale from a human is a cow because cows are sacred creatures in their view.
... sweatdrop

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
Yesh.

What else do you know about it?
Actually... I probably don't know much. These above are just what I've gathered and my personal views. I haven't looked anything up while typing any of this.

Some people, likewise, argue for and against "remembering" things from past lives. Personally I would think you could remember things, but then people claim this ruins the idea of karma. Again, I don't find karma to relate much to anything except that it affects other things possibly, depending.

I think I would agree though... perhaps each incarnation is to learn things. And... sometimes remembering past lives could get in the way of remembering, if you catch the drift.

Well, on rencarnation, I have been reincanated twice. I also have two other souls besides my own living within me. Anyway, Reincanation is a continual purification of the soul. Thats what I believe.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?

On the level that I believe in beyond question? In one word: change. It's the association and dissasociation of things, the bringing out of form and the bringing in of form. It's a purely natural process. When I die, I'll be dissasembled and reincarnated into something else. I don't own this body... never have, never will. It is simply part of the greater continuity of being... the larger interconnected relationship we all share with Gaia.

In terms of the soul? I can't say. But I suspect it is similar to the above. I don't find it reasonable to believe that 'I' (presuming 'I' even exist as a discreet ego, which is part of the problem in believing in that sort of reincarnation) will exist in some future lifetime.

My thoughts on this sort of relate to the idea of there being a "dreamer" that made up the world or everything as we know it...

I may or may not be the dreamer, but if the dream were to suddenly end... I feel like I would be something left over as I've become... just aware... of things.
Even if an original product of the dream I've grown my own "intelligence" to survive in some way separate from its ending... thus is my immortality in a way... sweatdrop

But, at death... yeah... I can't even imagine "me" merging with "it", whether or not I was originally created from "it".

Okay reincarnation.
basically the definition is when you die you get reborn.
The rules... you always get reincarnated with people you hold dear.
I don't believe in karma
you get to choose your next body and you can shape the way you look when you grow older.
personally? sure yeah!
you can retain memory of all your past lives.
and it is necessary for you to escape the reincarnation cycle, maintain your individuality, and live as a non-corporeal body (merkabah) to achieve 100% lightbody. It's complicated..... KTHXBI

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
The re-use of a soul that wasn't mature enough at the end of it's past life.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
When a living being capable of containing a soul dies, his/her soul is freed from that body's spiritual system and send to the System. From there, if it's mature enough, it goes into a special space in the Dimention realm for the rest of eternity. If it ain't mature enough, it is keep into the "soul pool" (didn't know how to translate it into words other than those) until a living being capable of containing a soul reach the age to receave a soul.
if their ain't any soul availeble at that moment, usualy a new soul should be created.

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
Well I have absolutely not been provided with any information about the existence of Karma so I can't really say anything else about this "relation"

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
Well yes.

What else do you know about it?
I think I pretty much said all there was to say limited to this subject.

What is reincarnation?
when a person dies, the only "death" is that of the physical body. The mind, which contains a person's mental impressions, continues after the body's death.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
Well this is for me, when one dies in return for that death a new is born.
But if for example you die but you haven't finish your duty on earth then a second chance may be entrusted to you. Sorry the thing I'm trying to tell you is kinda hard to explain.... stare

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
Well the cause of death maybe because of karma and that certain karma may have occurred because the person may have done something bad in his/ her life. so they are reborn to atone for their sins.

Do you personally Believe in reincarnation?
well part of me really believes in reincarnation, but part of me dosen't.

What else do you know about it?
I don't really know much about reincarnation, so sorry.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
The transference of one nonphysical soul from one physical form to another, usually upon death or shortly thereafter.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
I think that depends on what you believe in. I believe that our personal realities are created by our points of view, so if you believe in heaven, you'll go to heaven. If you believe in reincarnation, then you'll reincarnate. If you believe that you have the chance to choose your fate, then you will.

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
I'm not sure I believe in Karma, but it is thought by some that Karma, as the accumulation of our deeds and how far we derivate from our path in life, influences how we move up or down on the ladder of enlightenment.

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
Personally, I believe that all living things can be reincarnated, as the soul is energy and energy is never destroyed nor created. I believe that we can be reincarnated in any place, any time, any type of body, and any situation.

What else do you know about it?
Ummm, well, not much outside of personal experience.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
--The movement of the soul between lives.
What are the rules of this phenomenon?
--I doubt that human souls are NORMALLY reborn into animals and vice-versa. I think that the soul might choose it's next circumstances in life to better itself.
How are Karma and reincarnation related?
--If the soul wishes to better itself it must review its karma to choose correctly
Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
Yes
What else do you know about it?
Not much other than the different beliefs of it. And that I have a really old soul. Nothing else could explain some of the...events of my life and my personality in general.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?
The transition of lives from body to body with the life-death cycle. This is mostly done by choice, but I've found some "have" to do it for a purpose.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?
There are rules?

How are Karma and reincarnation related?
Hand in hand, and this is from first-hand experience. My life was very much s**t for a while, and I've been working on improving that. Poor life choices.

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?
Yes.

What else do you know about it?
What do you want to know? Rather broad question for me.

What do you think "reincarnation" is?

I believe Reincarnation is the cycles of birth and death your soul goes through, to learn knowledge of each life your soul chooses, in order to see more behind the bigger picture and awaken/enlighten the world to the point of now the oncoming 2012, as this might be a new Awakening.

I hold "What Dreams May Come." As example of somewhat of what I believe it to be.

What are the rules of this phenomenon?

The soul chooses the lives you are to live, and what you might have failed on might set you up for becoming Earthbound.

How are Karma and reincarnation related?

What you do in each life will come back to you...whether in of your soul choosing what life or becoming Earthbound....karma will come. Even in your present of what paths you choose to take.

Do you personally believe in reincarnation?

Yes, I do. Ever since I was 6 years old.

What else do you know about it?

I've read internet articles, watched movies based on it, listened to 'reincarnation stories', and experienced visioning my past lives.
