I was looking at getting an ipod, but someone told me that you could only download music onto it from itunes, and then someone else told me that you could get music from anywhere, not just itunes. So I'm confused. Help? emo

Okay, to clarify, you can download music from wherever you like, and you can rip from CDs etc, but to put the songs on your iPod you'll have to either rip the CDs through iTunes or add the songs/albums you've download to your iTunes library. Certain formats will need to be converted but iTunes does that on the fly.
It's all extremely easy to use, trust me and get one. You won't look back. And if you get any troubles, you can always ask me. <33

well you need itunes to get it onto your ipod
but you don;t need to purchase the songs from itunes.
you can rip songs off CD;s and upload them onto your itunes library
then transfer them to your ipod. :]
then if you want to be a pirate
you can download songs from limewire [(tsk tsk thou shall not steal)]
and transfer them onto itunes
and put them on your ipod.
talk REALLY LOUD, but my friends and I will always have [(eachother)]
