Kalani peeked out from behind a snow-capped boulder as he slowly trotted along the powerdy white landscape of the Snowdrop mountains. He took in a deep breath and let it out, relaxing and feeling much more at ease as he began to get accustomed to walking. A black and multi-colored speckled minya caught his eye and he let out a soft purr to attract its attention. The minya seemed just about his age!

Requiem was calmly walking about, taking careful steps in the sort of deep snow. To his parents, this snow was nothing. To him and his siblings though, this snow seemed like a trap that would keep you here for hours on end! Still, with careful steps and a little bit of patience, the evil snow was easy to conquer, unlike some other weird things in this world.
Still, when this little one heard an odd noise coming from a little ways ahead, his ears perked and he began to listen at once. It wasn't everyday that something that wasn't part of his family called out to him. So, it was definitely worth listening to.

Kalani noticed the Minya began to listen intently for his approach and just as he prepared himself to greet the stranger. Fwoomp! He sank straight down into the deeper snow and let out a small yelp.
"Awww man what have I gotten myself into this time?" He thought to himself. He was always so excited about things that it seemed natural for him to overlook something important and do something extremely clumsy . Like falling into deep snow.

The little minya's ears perked up some more as he heard yet another odd sound. However, this sound also sounded quite familiar. Taking a few careful, giant steps over to where he had heard the sound coming from, he saw two purple ears sticking out of the deep snow, as well as some purple, pointy things.
'What are those things?', he wondered to himself quietly, cocking his head at them. Nearing ever closer still, he saw the outline of a small minya in the snow, making him laugh, just a little bit.
"Hey down there! Do you need any help?"

Kalani slowly tried to move his paws around but the snow was thick and slushy. He heard steps approaching. 'Maybe it's help!' he thought excitedly and became joyous at the sound of a voice.
"Yes I need help please! I took a bit of a fall down here hehe." He smiled weakly although he was sure they couldn't see it.

Requiem looked around some, only to see snow, snow, and more snow. That wasn't much help. Still, he couldn't let this poor other to simply sit and freeze in the snow. He'd die that way, and death was simply not an option.
"Alright. Ummm... I'm going to tug on your ear. You try to climb up or jump out, if you can. Hopefully, together, we'll be able to pull you out of there."
Taking a few more steps forward, he grabbed onto the purple ear sticking out of the snow, tugging on it slightly. "Ready?", he mumbled.

Kalani disliked the idea of having his ear tugged but what options did he have really? "Uhhh ok then, let's hope so its getting colder.." Kalani said as it was indeed becoming colder.
"Ready!"

Instantly, Requiem began to tug on the purple ear, his shifting in the snow making him sink slightly. Wrinkling up his nose some, he jumped about, hopping out of the deep snow and back onto the top layer of it. He started to tug once more, pulling hard with the hopes of pulling this other little one out.

Kalani ignored the slight pain on his ear and began to paw at the sides of the hole, slowly inching upwards as they both strived in the effort. It seemed they might after all be able to get Kalani out of this somewhat predictable predicament!
Kalani was able to rise up a few inches and he began to beat his wings. They weren't very strong but did manage to make the effort slightly easier and with a sudden swoop Kalani was tugged out.

"OOF!"
With one last tug, the little purple one was out of the deep snow, free from a chilling death. Requiem, the little multi-colored rescuer, had toppled backwards and into a small snow pile, his head now stuck in it. Struggling some, he managed to pop his head out, shaking it as his blue/purple eyes looked about for whom he had rescued.

Kalani shook himself, setting off fine little specks of snow from his fur coat. He panted softly and regained his breath and looked upon his rescuer. It was the same minya he'd seen earlier.
"Hey thanks for helpin me! I'm Kalani, whas your name?"

The multi-colored minya smiled back. So this was the one who had been calling out to him before. He was rather interesting to see, as those things on his back still confused him. However, he played it cool and tried not to make it look like he was staring at them.
"I'm Requiem. It's nice to meet you, Kalani. I'm just glad I got to you in time. Being stuck in that snow for long wouldn't of been a good thing for you."

Kalani breathing eased and he returned the smile, his tail swishing lightly in the snow and his wings twitching softly.
"Nice to meet ya too Requiem. And I know it woulda bin terribible-- terrble--- terribl if you hadn't gotten me out. It was getting colder each second and I hadda wap my tail around my body to keep warm."
