Current setting : Modern day. Things are as if you were to just walk outside and continue your normal, everyday life. Nothing special about this world, and some have been known to have abnormal powers. Kinda X-Menish, I think. Experiments have also been conducted in order for normal people to get these abnormal powers. They have failed at an exceedingly high rate.
This is the story of the events that happen to two friends, affected by these powers in some way.

Alphonse (Hereafter referred to as 'Al' in dialogue, because he hates his formal name.), walks down the street, alongside his childhood friend. One moment the air was quiet, then the next it's broken by the loud sound of his stomach growling. He was hungry.
"Damn," Alphonse laughed. "Wasn't expecting that! What do you rate it, Naygan?" He was always having his bodily functions rated by others, just to see how disgusting he was being at the moment. He wasn't exactly trying to be that way, but it always amused him.

Naygan laughed and rolled her eyes. "Eight," she responded. Alphonse was always full of himself. He had been like that ten years ago and nothing had changed. Even through the experiments. "I forget. Where're we going again?"

"I uh... Don't remember?" He laughed to himself, doing a half spin to walk backwards. "I thought you were supposed to remember." Naygan had become like a little sister to him. After all the horrible experiments and lab tests, he was glad to at least find a friend in that hell hole.
"How's food sound?" The sun was slowly setting, casting awkward shadows against the ground.

Naygan laughed. "Why do I always have to remember?" She knew why, she just liked to hear Alphonse's different reasons. Somehow he had managed to stay.. somewhat sane through everything that happened to them. Shrugging, she answered, "Sure. Obviously you're hungry.."

"Cause you have the better memory, remember? I got old-timers disease!" He laughs, turning around again. How he appears outwardly hadn't changed after all that had happened, but inside was a different story. Nothing was really the same. All the good smells didn't smell as good, food hasn't been tasting as tasty as it should. It seemed like they were trying to dull his senses in order to make him the ideal killing machine. Through all of it, he managed to keep his emotions and personality in tact.
"How's Burger King sound? Or maybe Taco Hell?"

"You mean Alzheimer's? Maybe they did something to your head, Al," she said pulling at his hair like his head would pop open. Her hair had changed colors after the experiments. As had much of her DNA. In fact, her DNA was half water and air, the other half human, subjecting her to awkward mood changes.
Nodding, "Burger King."

He yelps at her pulling on his now silver hair. "Hey! Don't be doing that! That still kinda hurts!" The only thing all the experiments did to him physically is dull out his hair color, taking it from it's original black color to silver, and his eyes lost their color as well, becoming the same color as his hair. He then turns the corner, cocked to the side from Naygan's grip.

Laughing, she let go. "Wuss. You can fight a handful of our hunters but you cry when I pull your hair.." Behind her back, she waved a finger and a stream of wind blew his hair everywhere.

"Hey, I haven't lost all feeling." He laughs, ignoring the fact that his hair is going everywhere. "Those hunters are fun though, watching their faces as I stomp every one of them." His laugh turns slightly evil, but then he's back to his good ol' self. Turning to the Burger King, his stomach grumbles once again.

"Hey now, no laughing at me. It's not my fault that I'm like this." He laughs as he holds the door to the restarunt open for Naygan to enter first. He was surprised that nobody was fleeing in sight of them today.

"But it's fun to blame it on you," he said with a light laugh, following her in. Feeling all the eyes fall onto them, he bows his head. Someone was bound to find out where they were if the two of them overstayed their welcome. "Come on," he proded Naygan, getting her to move to the line so they could order.

She lead the way to the line. "I'm just thirsty," she said. "You know I'll end up ganking your fries or something.." She turned sideways, facing away from the other customers but able to look at Alphonse. A tiny stream of air went past his ear and he could hear, "Al, I don't like this. Someone's going to catch us.. One of them knows about us..." She had used her elemental wind power to whisper into his ear only.

"I know," he whispered back. Everyone in line seemed to part just so they could easily reach the front of the line. "Guess that was easy," Alphonse motions for her to make her order first. "Go ahead, sis."
