From what I had understood it was supposedly a female sex demon sweatdrop

Succubae are demons that feed off of the life energy of humans, usually via sex. Just how far these demons go depends on where you get your information about them. Some stories say they suck out the soul and leave their victim dead. Others say they just feed off of it a little, leaving them with less of a soul than the had. Others just say it's about the energy, so you're exhausted in the morning. Also, they can take on whatever shape they like, so the same succubus/incubus may be male one night and female another.
Oh, right - succubae or incubae are usually shown attacking at night. A lot of women in the medieval period claimed that their illegitimate pregnancies were the result of incubae attacks. I always get a kick out of that. ^^
So, why do you ask?

Yes some say they do stuff to you whilst you sleep, which is why you feel so exhausted and sore in the morning sometimes =d. Also sometimes used to explain certain types of ... *ahem* dreams 3nodding

in short Incubus and Succubus are sex demons that will pray on the weak minded and strong pride type most of the time. As for Morrigan from Darkstalkers sorry to burst your bubble, but she is concider a Succubus, not a vampire.
