IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ. CONCERNING WINNERS/PRIZESI'm taking over the judging for this contest. please check my posts on page 3 for more details. ~Zenai Metos Dear competitior,
Annetia speaking. Sylvesterine has left Gaia, so I'm taking over the contest.
I'll be judging all the entries posted on this page and then delivering prizes. I don't have access to Sylvesterine's PMs, so the only entries judged will be the ones posted on THIS page.
This is important, I simply can't afford 16k's worth of prizes, I'll do as much as I can.
This is all bad circumstance, so I have to ask for your patience and co-operation in the matter. I'm not asking for donations, especially if you've donated to Sylvesterine already.
My apologies, again.
Much love, xx Annetia xxWelcome to the Vampiric Writing Contest! This is set as a side-contest within the Harvest Festival hosted by the Guild of Competitive writers. Click here for the main page of the Tournament. Click here to go to the guild which, for the duration of the Tournament, will be made public! Welcome: I am the host of the second round of the Guild of Competitive writers "Harvest Festival". I decided to host a side contest also. You are all welcome, members of the guild and nonmembers. How this will work: This is the easiest kind of contest, its a free for all. You write about the given genre, then the judge (this will be me only) will make his decision and choose a winner. Members of the guild have the equal chances as the nonmembers. You will all have to post your entry in the thread. I prefer not to get any entries in by PM, only if you have a good reason. The contest starts at the same moment as I post it. It will end the last day in October. That schould give everyone more then enough time to write something descent. You are allowed to submit more then one entry. The first one is free, and if you want to submit more, then you have to pay 500 gold for each. I set the entry fee that high, because I prefer only one entry from everyone. All the money from the entry fees will be put into the prize money. To make a second enty, send me a trade, and then I give you the okay to post it. The Genre: Well, its october the fall is here, all the leaves turn orange and hallowen is just around the corner. I figured out my favourite creature of the night is the vampire. And as I am reading rules for diferent contests in the forums I often see rules like "You are not a vampire, so stop pretending" and I find that a litle boring, cuz I like vampires. So I decided I give you free hands on the vampire genre. I understand that this propably has been done before, but I hope you dont get angry cuz of that. The genre is anything that has with Dracula, the Children of the night, Nosferatu or just plain Vampires to do.

The Rules: 1. The entry can either be a poem a story or a novel. It can be anything, and make it as long as you want, I will read it all. 2. Always follow the rules and guidelines of Gaiaonline. 3. Please, do not submit anything which you have not written.
4. Please, POST your stories in this thread. I do NOT want any entries PMed to me. If entries are PMed, they will not be looked at until they are posted in the thread. 5. Please, read all of the rules and please read all of the posts explaining the contest. 6. When posting your story, please post it in the normal size font (nothing smaller, nothing bigger than the default). Also, do not centre your font. Keep it aligned to the left, please. 7. I'll add your name to the contestant's list, and stick around! This contest is open to everyone. 8. Please post your stories in black, unless using coloured fonts help with the story. 9. When posting your story, please use this heading:
Author: Title:
Judging Rubric: Spelling & Grammar (10 possible points) 0 – This is earned if you have completely massacred the English language. If this is the case, I suggest you learn English before you enter another writing contest. 5 – If your spelling and grammar are only average, you will receive this mark automatically. 6 - This is earned if your spelling and grammar are relatively good with only several errors. 7 – Your spelling is pretty good, but grammar needs work/Grammar is pretty good, but spelling needs work. 8 – Both spelling and grammar have very few errors (5 or less) 9 – No one is perfect, but if you’re extremely close, this is what you get. 10 – Perfect. Need I say more?
Creativity (10 possible points) 0 – This is earned if you have taken someone else’s plot and have twisted it only slightly. 5 – This is earned automatically if your story is original and if there are a few stories with this type of plot. 6 – I realize that having absolutely no inspiration for a story is almost impossible, so you will earn this if you show that your story was not based off another story’s plot. 9 – If you get this, you have created an extremely original story but there could be more to it. 10 – This will only be awarded if your story is something the world has never seen before.
Use of English (10 possible points) 0 – You will receive this mark if you do not know how to use the English language to create a story. If you get this, please, stop writing. 5 – This is earned automatically if your use of the language is average and understandable. 6 – This is earned if the entry is just slightly above average in regards to how it is written. 9 – This is earned if I am impressed with the structure of the story and if it is in a class of its own. 10 – This will only be awarded if the story is perfectly written out (including imagery and verb tenses).
Note: There will be more grammatic freedom if you write a poem. And as you may have noticed, I am no good english writer myself, but I have friends who are and they´ll help me judging the spelling and grammar.
I thank Imaginary Illusion for the judging system and for the set up, and for the rules, and for the whole set up of the posts!
