I just finished Venus Versus Virus recently. It's a good series, except the ending is a bit confusing (not so much depressing though.)
As for manga, I recommend Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry Blossom Pink. It's actually a couple of short manga stories by Morinaga Miruku.

It's quite possible that you's might like Mahou Sensei Negima. It's an all girl school being taught by a 10 year old wizard. (Sounds Harry Potterish but it's not)
Anyways... My favorite couple is in that manga/show but you won't get to them towards Book 4. sad
The rating is 16+.

Other than that, it's not Yuri. (I personally don't like it, except for a few characters.) I recommend this one manga called "Girlfriends." It's written by the same author of "Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry Blossom Pink."
