It's a great movie!
It's best if you get the Special Edition; it comes w/ Movie, Extras, and Soundtrack. 3nodding

I have the one my hubby found for me at our local anime store. Now I'll have to go out and get the special edition! I am such a GITS fanatic, that I must have every extra thing I can get! I love Batou! heart

Yep had mine Pre Ordered weeks before it came out. I got the Special Edition.
Next on my buy list Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex The Laughing Movie they took the whole first season and made it into a 2 hour film.
They'er doing the same thing with 2nd Gig but it won't be out till like December-ish.

I got it. I guess it's the special edition because it has two discs and is in a metal case? Whatever, I don't really mind what edition I have, because the special features aren't really worth watching (apart from 'Uchikomatic Days', perhaps?)

Whatever, I don't really mind what edition I have, because the special features aren't really worth watching (apart from 'Uchikomatic Days', perhaps?) The Uchikomatic Days should be on either edition. I didn't know that the special edition came with the soundtrack or else I would have gotten it. I recommend getting the special edition if that's the case. I fell in love with the OST during the movie. lol Good stuff. What I loved the most about SSS is that it resembled the first movie in a more...updated and more sophisticated way. ^^ Sorry guys. I'm in love with that movie. lol

It was only an OVA for the show, not another movie like the two that exist ( if that makes any sense xd ).

I wish I could get my hands on that dvd. :C i got the speical edition version. its good and its like Shirow's ghost in the shell book. i will say this, get ghost in the shell 1.5. they are kinda similar and the book is almost a prequal to the movie. the major is gone and 1.5 deals mostly with Section 9 with only 1 of the 7 chapters has an appearence from the major. all and all both are good and yeah. i crave more Ghost stuff
