In my opinion, Lord of the Rings. I have seen far too many 'OMG legolas!!11!' type people.
I do heart Elijah Wood though.

Hmm. It's a tie between Lord of the Rings and Inuyasha fangirls. They totally neglect the fascinating stories and intricate workings of the characters to squeal over how hawt they are. xp

sickntwistiid Tim Burton/Jhonen Vasquez fangirls. Worst ever. stare I hate those stare I hate how Hot Topic made Nitemare Before Christmas so popular randomly. If you ask half the people wearing that s**t they don't even know the character's names. I know some of the characters and I hate that movie xd I also hate the fan girls that think they know everything about all that sort of s**t and boast about it constantly. stressed

Polalis sickntwistiid Tim Burton/Jhonen Vasquez fangirls. Worst ever. stare I hate those stare I hate how Hot Topic made Nitemare Before Christmas so popular randomly. Hot Topic makes everything "goth" and Family Guy like humor to something popular. gonk Bwah. Quote: If you ask half the people wearing that s**t they don't even know the character's names. I know some of the characters and I hate that movie xd I love that movie more than anything, and I have ever since I was a wee me. ...But that doeant mean I go around squealing about it like a certain girl I saw at the mall a few weeks back who was all gothy with her colored black hair and silly pentagram necklace, who suddenly spotted some friends of hers whom she ran over to and then pulled out of her bag a very new cheap version of NTBC. It went something like this: "AWHMAGAD LOOKIT WHAT I BOUGHT NAIGHTMAER BEFAOR KRISTMASS!!! ITS LIKE THE BEST MOVIE EVER!! TIM BURTON IS A GAWD!!" Well let me tell you what MISSY! You probably dont know s**t about what hes made part from that movie and maybe Eddy Scissorhands. Poohhead. stare I think its time for me to be quiet now. Argh.. Quote: I also hate the fan girls that think they know everything about all that sort of s**t and boast about it constantly. stressed Yes, like a girl I know. Shes nice and all, but she thinks she knows more than anybody else when it come to Tim Burton, just because she has a few TNBC dolls. My oh my..

From my own experience, I'd have to say that LoTR fangirls are the worst. How I wish they had chosen an absolute gargoyle to play Legolas. Or that they had still chosen Orlando Bloom, but that they dumped hot acid on his face before the filming of FoTR. xd
Just one glance at the LoTR forum here, and you can tell that half of the people in there are fans just because of the movies. It's easy to pick out comments that only look at surface level, and only refer to occurances and characters from the movies. And it's really easy to pick out those who refer to scenarios that never occurred in the books, but were painted in such detail in the movies. "OMg!1!1 Arwin iz soOoOoOoo brav 4 scarrin off dah nassgull at dat rivar thngie!!!1!" rolleyes
I'm no expert on the books. Hell, I read them years ago, and I didn't even finish RoTK. But I know enough to pick out bullshitters and movie fans, and I see a whole boatload of them every time I set foot in that forum.
There are a lot of Harry Potter fangirls, as well, but at least most of them have read the books. But if I hear one more time that Hermione should end up with Harry or Draco because "they r sooooo hott0rz!1!" I'll vomit.

Licorice Penguin I haven't dared venture in there yet for fear that my brain will explode. Or my stepfather will come in with some laundry, see the idiot fangirls, hijack my account, and flame them within an inch of their e-life. whee When you do dare, don't be too frightened when you see a topic written all in caps about Legolas being hot. sweatdrop That's just Meri, Freodwyn, me, and others proclaiming our love for Bakshi Legolas a complete joke. The real problem with the LoTR forum is that even when someone posts an absolutely brilliant, insightful thread, they'll be overrun with illiterate twinks in no time. I just can't wait for the craze over the movies to die down, so that only the true fans remain in that forum. sweatdrop

MeriThranduiliell Ah, the wonders of the BL thread! I love that place. whee As do I. It's one of the main reasons I stayed on Gaia this long. 3nodding Quote: I miss when the movies weren't popular- then I could profess my love of LotR without being assumed a fangirl. xp I miss the nonexistent time when movies based on books were carbon copies of the books themselves. ;_;
