My mom started talking to me about sex when I was 7 or 8 maybe. Not everything, but she still told me. I guess it was the Birds and the Bees lesson. I'm 15 now, and it still seems a teensy bit wierd to talk to her about sex. It's extremely embarrasing when we talk about girl stuff when my step-dad's in the room, and talking about sex with him in the room is even creepier. I have no problem talking to my biological dad about sex and stuff, though. So, my question is:
Do you feel wierd talking about sex, and everything related to it, with your parents?

ive never had the awkward sex talk. most ive gotten was my dad telling me to take some girl to a concert, toss a mattress in the back of my pickup truck and bring a box of condoms.

Well, I first asked my mom about sex when I was probably somewhere between 8 and 10, and her telling me about it was kind of weird for me at the time. As I got older, though, I became a bit more curious as to why it seems to be so out-of-control in society, so I even began asking a my mom and friends some stuff about it... it's still a little akward sometimes, but it doesn't really bother me anymore.
Although, sometimes when they answer my questions I feel as though I've been mentally scarred and ask myself "why, why did I ask about that?!" lol. I'll never forget the day my friend told me what a b*****b was... I was sooo grossed out. sweatdrop

Not anymore it isn't. When I was little it was all, "Ahhh, can't we talk about this later!" Now I know it's a part of life and most of the 'talks' are over.

My parents never talked to me about it. I learned from a combination of sources - school, my friends, the media. I think it was mostly my friends that taught me about it. I was so naive. rofl

I was so naive. rofl This is parents should do it. learning from the media will result in sub-consoius association of sex and products that use sex in advertising, The schools can't teach anything right, and your friends probably won't know as much as your parents. Though it is really awkward from your parent's there isn't many better options to learn from. Again I bring up the plan of Sexology Expert Sue Johanson. She has written a line of children's books that parents can use to teach their children about sexuality properly (instead of using words like thing, pee-pee). This way parents can tech there kids before the media does, and help kids to realize sex isn't a taboo and not soothing that should be used for love, not popularity.

I just try to avoid them. If I needed any advice then I wouldn't be a virgin. I know what it is, my sick fifth grade teacher made sure of that, and I know the dangers. I don't need their help, and the most they've been able to say about it is, "Here, have some condoms."
Please, by time I do have sex I won't need to use a condom!

I do NOT talk with my dad. HE would die. My mom and I talk though. But I am older and we are close, so we talk about MOST things comfortably. OCCASIONALLY it is awkward, but mostly only if it starts with "well, your dad and I..." in the which I cut her off quick.

No, not really. We had the playboy channel when I was about six. And I asked my brother what they were doing. And yeah. Thats how I found out about the birds and the bees. And. I still dont know how the birds and the bees story goes. But yeah. I basically got sexual education through my brother and Hugh Hefner.
