The sun shone brightly down upon the peaceful park, lightening the colors and the glow of the trees. Humans walked along with pets connected upon chains, settled with loved ones upon the grass, or just played all sorts of games. Among them was a sky blue Russell, getting a feel for the lands around him. A rough collar lined his neck, the silver tag occasionally shining, and so most simply assumed his owner was near by.
Yet, he was alone, and thanks to certain green Russell, he was safe.
Padding through the grasses in a weaving pattern, his nose was dug into the grasses, taking in the scents with curious wonder. Suddenly, his tail stopped it's erratic display, and his head popped up. Looking over, he let out a sharp yap before chasing a nearby duck, sending feathers into the air as they fled from the small blue demon.
"Ha! I've still got it!"

Lily hid herself well underneath the brush nearby, keeping a close eye on the male. Her eyes slanted as he spoke, a grin on her maw. Taking it as a challenge, the Russel sprung into action and literally jumped out in front of Coty, getting a chase at the ducks for herself.
"If you've still got it, then you can gladly go against my challenge!" She barked loudly, and bared her fangs as she excitingly chased after the birds, watching them scatter like little bugs.

Skidding to a halt, his eyes widened at the female before narrowing dangerously. Letting out a snarl, he couldn't believe she had jumped in front of him again. Didn't she know it was up to the male to show off? He felt a sort of snort come from his maw as he stomped a paw, attempting to get her attention.
"Challenge, you are scaring the birds, Lily!" He said with a bit of a reprehend, "It takes no skill to scare the birds, even a pup could do it. But to chase the birds, those that have wings, that is an art. An art that I have, mademoiselle."
He moved close so he didn't need to bark out to her, and faced her nose to nose, "Maybe you can provide me with a real challenge now, eh fleur?"

She paused, a slant in her eyes. "Oh please, Coty. There is no art to chasing birds. Yes, they can fly ... ... but, so can we!" She grinned, and lept into the air with grace, in an attempt to reach for the sky. As she slowly came back down to the ground, she landed on her paws. "I have no reason to challenge you, if you look at bird chasing in such an odd way. I'll gladly chase them for the fun of it all, though."
Tail wagging rapidly, she ignored Coty and darted past him, jumping into the sky with the ducks. It wasn't long before she realized she jumped over the lake, and wasn't going to make it to the bank. Flailing, she fell down to the earth with great speed, as gravity pulled her weight down into the water below. The ducks followed her, as they landed smoothly, and floated upon the top. Lily was not as lucky, and sunk to the bottom.
Holding her breath, she paddled her way back up to the surface.

Sputtering a bit, he huffed a bit and mumbled to himself, eyes down and a bit hurt at her views upon him.
"I wish you wouldn't challenge me all the time though..." Pouting, he let her rush past and didn't realize she was already to the water until a loud splash was heard. Ears perking up, he quickly turned and rushed over, barking when he didn't see her above the surface. Stepping closer, he searched and saw her green pelt, before padding in and barking some more.
"Lily! You fool-" The second part was more to him as he waited to see if she would come, "Come on..." Maybe he was taking it too far, but at the point he really didn't think, he just acted.

She came back up to the surface, and then paddled back to the land. As she emerged from the water, she shook her fur, spraying water everywhere. "Sorry, Coty -- thats just how I am." She padded out, and turned to look at the ducks. "That was rather fun ..." She walked up to the male and smiled.
"Sorry, i'll calm down now. I was just wanting to have ... a little bit of fun." Her blues lit up as she plopped beside Coty. "So, what do you plan on doing today? The park is nice -- but not as nice at the city. Its too ... peaceful here. Unless you prefer this more. But, I personally like the action that the streets provide." She turned towards the city's skyline, peering up at it.
"It sure is beautiful from here."

He let out a breath when she emerged, and felt a bit like a jerk when she apologized, showing it with his flopped ears. When she moved to his side, he set his muzzle on her shoulders and let out a sigh.
"I'm sorry too Lils...I just don't want to lose you...you're all I've really got out here..." mumbling the last park, he looked to the water before suddenly straightening and smiling a bit. Hopefully changing the subject would help her forget his loss of composure.
"I actually like the park, but really I couldn't live here...it's nice, but sometimes it's too quite. It's more of a place I would visit for what those humans call...vacation." Nodding, he stood a bit and shook his pelt, small droplets falling from where she sent them upon him.
"But it's nothing compared to the street, now that takes skill!"

"No worries. I would never lose my life that easily ..." She quirked a brow, looking back at him. "Are you kidding me?" She stuck out her tounge, and then moved closer to Coty with a smile. "I know, but ... its okay to have fun." She wagged her tail as she looked into his eyes. "And ... your all i've got out here, Coty."
She agreed. "The park is nice, but it cannot replace the essence of the streets. I like a daring challenge. Everyday."

A huge chuckle left his maw as he tried to ignore the reaction his body had to her revelation. Tail wagging as well, he looked out to the park and thought over her reasoning.
"You make it quite apparent how much you love the challenge, Lils, and I feel the same way. Yet...I always wonder what it would be like, living the settled life...would it get boring?" Pausing in his thoughts, he waited a moment before a wicked thought crossed his mind. Glancing to his companion, he suddenly shoved her with his nose and sprinted off, a silent challenge to the female who loved them all.

Lily smiled widely. As he stood, she followed. "Hey, as long as you join me in the settled life, how could it ever be boring?" She slanted her eyes with a grin as she playfully chased after him.
"Of course I love the challenge. Life is just a big challenge, waiting to reveal itself to me, everyday. And hey, settling down is a challenge in its own way, too. Might be more calming, but it might certainly be harder than what we're used to."

He kept his pace easy, a flutter of a flurry across the park. It was slow enough for him to speak, but fast enough to call for her to chase. In the end, it was one big game, and hopefully she would fall into his trap. He loved to chase.
"You have a beautiful outlook on the world around us, mademoiselle."
And with that, he turned upon her in attempt to catch her off guard and make his own chase.

"Thanks, Coty." She followed with grace, the fur on her back flowing like the ocean's tide. Though, as her friend turned around to catch her off guard, she was caught in his trap. Not noticing, she kept running ahead and then ran right into the blue male. Tripping over him, she rolled down the hill beside him, until she landed at the bottom, laughing lightly.
She sat up, and looked to him, at the top of the small hill. "Get your butt down here ..." She grinned, and let out a light bark as she wagged her tail.

Laughing as he followed after her, he settled next to her at the bottom of the hill, "I'm here, I'm here."
Settling his head on his paws, he just basked in the sunlight with a light sigh, a grin crossing his maw. This was it, this was the easy life, and really it didn't matter where he was. All he really needed was a steady dog by his side, someone to keep his interest day in and day out, and a place to be with them. Opening an eye, he glanced to the beauty beside him and than closed them again, happy and a bit tired. Like a cat, he was content with sleeping the day away, night was better anyway.

"I'm glad you're here." When he came beside her, she licked him on the cheek and playfully lept onto him. She felt like she was a puppy all over again, it felt so great to be so hyper and happy. It made her feel warm inside, was he really who she should settle down with. It was something to question, but Coty was such a kind dog, and quite proper at that. There was nothing wrong with him, so there was no reason not to love him in return.
"Anyways, who am I supposed to settle down with, if you aren't here?" She questioned him with a smile. "I think its a challenge we can both handle -- together."

Letting out a quick 'oof', he felt her weight push him down. Frowning slightly, he quickly shoved her off before moving to lay on top of her now, sporting his own grin.
"Together...I think I can handle that...but you can't go stealing my thunder anymore." Showing he was joking, he slid off and curled close to her, making a move to tuck her body next to his, "I won't leave you alone, we are in this together, good and bad...though with you it will always be good..."
Smiling, he looked up at the sun one last time before quickly pushing up, "Alright, this scene is getting old fast...let's roll, mademoiselle."
