I always thought that, from the manga anyway, that Boogiepop was a boy that was formed from a girl's soul, Touka. I've had trouble drawing Boogiepop for a while because I wasn't sure if I should use masculine or feminine features. I think I have it down by making him a beautiful boy. Like a bishi...
But what gender is Boogiepop anyway? Or does he not have one because technically he's a figment of everyone's imagination (sorta... sweatdrop )

He has no gender, though I refer to Boogiepop using male pronouns. (And I refer to Boogiepop Phantom with female pronouns.)

However, because he is in Touka's body, I would give him female features. (Bishounen would work, too, I think...)

In the back of the first Boogiepop book when they were stating characters genders, Boogiepop got an "O" for other. Also on page 232 might shed a little light on the subject.

I've never drawn Boogiepop nor attempted to so I'm not much help on this.
