I'm trying to work on my National Novel Writing Month novel. The challenge is to just write on the fly and get as much out as possible and critique in December. But, every time I sit down at the computer and pull up the story, I can picture my evil tenth grade English teacher glaring over my shoulder. I always knew she was a witch anyway and she's actually haunting me 7, almost 8, years after I was in her class! burning_eyes How can I ignore her so I can get near my goal?!?!?!

Breathe. Look for ways to calm down. What I find helpful is to compile a playlist of favorite songs that make you focus on what you're doing.
Some songs that help me (you don't have to check them out, but they MIGHT work for you as well): "Masterpiece" Meg and Dia "Pressing On" Relient K "Victoriam Speramus" Krypteria "See the Sun" Dido "Angel" Sarah McLahlan (sp?)

If you're able to, try writing somewhere you don't usually write. Try something new and see if it helps. =]
