Hello and welcome to the fourth Guild newsletter!
Here's what's been going on in the Guild:
Closure of the GCW Harvest Festival!
Well, it's been a long run. The tournament kinda flopped, with nobody making it to the final round, but all donation money has been spread out amongst some of the newcomers who need money to host contests.
However, the main purpose of the festival was to promote the Guild, and boy, have we been successful! We've had at least one person a day joining the Guild, and reading their applications, I can tell you we've got some lovely new people with us now! So, please be nice to them and enter as many contests as you can, I will thank you and give you cookies! (Does anyone else think there should be a cookie item for our avatars? I do).
Anyways, a special welcome to all those who've joined us in the last month, and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped me out by finding the time to run contests or rounds of the tournament, I am in your debt! heart
So, let's all celebrate the autumn month, and let's hope next year's will be even better!
Expansion of the treasury!
I've been working very hard to raise money lately (plus I've had some ridiculously huge donations), so the guild's treasury has swollen beyond recognition. If you feel you need help raising money for your competition then PM me, I can spare you something. However, requests for donations for anything else will be ignored. Enjoy, folks!
Another new subforum!
I'm raising money for another subforum, entitled "The Classroom". As you can probably guess, this is where folkses will go for help with all things literary (as opposed to the non-competitive writing forum, where you can just show off). Here you can ask for help with all things literary, including schoolwork. Somebody will be glad to help you!
That means I'm also calling for voulenteers to be tutors here. It's not hard work, just check the subforum occasionally and see if anyone needs a hand. You can always defer if something's beyond your ability. Just one thing: you have to be good at writing to tutor writers, or good at maths to tutor mathmeticians, or whatever else people need help in. But you're here, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Speaking of problems, for some reason the Guild donation thingummy isn;t accepting my password. So, if you've got a spare penny on you, I only need about 700 gold.
But anyways, here's looking forwards to the launch of that idea!
Makeover time!
No, not for you! You don't even need one. Neither do I, contrary to popular opinion, so back away from the cosmetics, hun.
The guild is being changed a little, mostly just renaming the sub-forums. It may take a little while to get used to, but I'm trying to make it easy. Newcomers, fear not, this guild isn't one of those that changes whenever you've just gotten used to it. It changes according to the mood swings of its captain, and they're few and far between.
Promotions!
I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but Zenai_Metos has been upgraded in status due to his value as one of my guild. If you've been here a while and you feel you're long overdue a promotion, PM me to tell me why. I'm a pushover, as many of you know.

Annetia's Weekly Paragraph Competition
For those of us who've been here since the beginning, the one contest that started it all has returned to the stadium!
No fee
First prize: 1000 gold
I write a sentence, you write the rest of the paragraph.

Entry fee: 50 gold
First prize: Depends on the number of entrants (so, people, get some interest in this thing!)
Write about the provided quote or picture.
Write My Picture
Entry fee: 15
First prize: 3/4 of gold from entry fees goes to prizes
Write about one of the provided pictures.
Word Write
Entry fee: 30
First prize: (I don't think lylas said)
Tell lylas you're entering and send her the fee, then she will send you a random word from her mind and you must write a short story/poem about it.
The Quintessential Writing Contest

Entry fee: 500 gold
First prize: 80% of all entry fees (but I've already donated so it should be at least 1000 gold).
The challenge changes weekly.
