High on the outskirts of town stands a tall metal clocktower. A large rod points out from the top and conducts electricity from Psychic storms. This place has been vacant for thousands of years, but now, the Aeromasters have suddenly started making this their sacred meeting ground. This tower is believed by some to be haunted by the man who is buried under it, but who could that be?

Elliot sighs. He tries to climb the stairs, but soon gives into pain and let himself ride the platform to the top. He hops off and sits, watching the people mill about in the circle below him. He knows no one will come looking for him; the aeromasters no longer came here, and who would care enough anyway? He sighs, closing his eyes and letting his aura glow blue for a moment before focusing and healing himself. A minute later his bruises are gone and he wipes a remnant of blood from his face. Now exhausted, he sits still resting, watching the people outside. Absently, he lifts a clockwieght from the floor and levitates it around himself. This was why people were so confused as to why he was an apprentice to a chronomaster and not a telomaster; he was more that than anything else. But he didn't really care, he was just an indentured servant for at least another year, and he only knew one telomaster at the moment. One who Elliot concluded had no interest in him whatsoever.

He shrugged the thought off, wondering if Shane had found Alamander yet.

She walked up the stairs slowly, trailing one hand over the railing as the other held her book. If what she heard was true, then this was an aeromaster place, so she had every right to be here. Even still, she felt as if she was trespassing.

Elliot tips his head, hearing the light tread on the stairs. He stands tiredly, still a little sore, and heads to the bannister where he leans looking down at the other. "Hello...I saw you reading on the fountain..." That was random...but he wasn't really thinking clearly yet. "What are you doing here?" He smiles. "I'm Elliot, by the way..."

"Iris." She replied, giving him her name. She looked at him, just reaching the top of the stair, one hand on the banister. "You smiled at me while I was reading. I was curious as to why."

He laughs. "Don't people smile at you often? You are quite pretty..." he steps back fom the bannister, sighing. "I smile at everyone. It's just the way I am...did it bother you?" He asks quietly. He hopes he hadn't offended her as well.

He turns back to the transparent clock face, looking down at the ground. He sees Kazuya and Kiress leaving the tavern followed by the telomaster putting his arm around the other. Jealousy suddenly wells up inside him, and he whirls around back to the woman. "I'm sorry, I have to leave. Someone needs help...you can come with me if you want..." he leaps from the platform without waiting for her to answer, using his sheild to slow himself before he landed. Feeling guilty for being jealous, he runs back into the circle.

((Ummmm, duh. To circle.))

"It didn't bother me..." She said as he left. Pretty was not how most people described her. Cold and aloof were more normal adjectives that were applied to her. She ran a hand through her hair, finding a section of blue-dyed hair and pulling it in front of her eyes so that she could see it. Aside from the blue streaks, her hair was white like snow, as was her skin except for the pinkish tint that her blood gave it. Her eyes were also red for the same reason...yes, pretty was not the usual term, though she supposed she was somewhat pretty.

She ran back down the stairs as fast as fast as she could. This was getting very intruiging now.

((Following him.))

Elliot climbs the stairs again, rubbing his wrist where the tie had been. Peering out the many dark windows he sees Kazuya and Kiress emerging from indoors. He sighs. Wel, at least Lex hadn't hurt him...he stops and watches the sun rise. The orange and yellow light streamed into the clock's inner workings and washes over the young man, making the gold in his eyes stand out a little. He turns away, smiling a little, and continues to the top of the tower.

((Why? Because there's nothing going on, and that's boring!))

Faust appears in a swirl of smoke on top of the tower. He stretches and cracks his neck, smiling an evil smile. "Look at them, lolling about down there," he says to no one in particular. "I do believe it is time to shake things up a bit, ya? See just what these simpletons have to offer." He pulls a small vial from deep inside his robes, pouring the contents into his outstretched hand. He stops for a moment, hearing a noise from withing the tower. That damned channeler was moping around in there again. Oh, well, no matter. He takes a slow breath and brings his hand to his face. Exhaling, the dust floats through the air, coming to rest on the railing. The dust takes the shape of four creatures: one a dull glowing red, its firey eyes peering about from under a thick crown of horns and scales, flames roaring over its body. One was a tall woman-like figure, clad in flowing blue robes and with long pale hair that floats about in all directions. Her hands were folded into each other, and her eyes are closed. The next resembled a small tree, with lush vines crawling everywhere. The mass of limbs and leaves twitched slowly. The last rolled off the railing as soon as it landed, its watery waves seeping down the tower, gaining momentum. Faust smiles. "Go forth, my undead elementals. Bring the most havoc you can wreck." The creatures make their way to the town, creeping grotesquely down the clock face.

Faust laughs at the psychics as they tried in vain to protect their homes and shops from the rampage. "Come on now," he muses "these aren't even half of the best I've got. You can try a little harder." He hums lightly to himself. "We'll see if they are worthy to keep Arcanus City."

Elliot hears the commotion and runs to the clock face, just in time to watch fire engulf the tavern and the waves wash over Kiress's house. He turns to run back and help, but something stops him. Something cold and unmoving.

"Hello, my boy." Faust steps out of the shadows and circles Elliot. "You would be a very powerful chronomaster someday if you were to accept me as your teacher. I'm not as bad as they say." He ran his fingers along Elliot's jaw, laughing quietly as the boy continued to struggle against his bonds.

"I'm sure I would." He glares at the man. "Why are you doing this? What happened to our founder? Shouldn't you be helping us?"

"Of course. I am helping. You see," he turns Eliiot around, forcing him to watch the town. "My collegue and I have differing opinions of how to handle those who question the sanctity of this city...like your dear Lex. And perhaps our hydromasters will stop try to outdo the floramasters. You must learn to live in harmony, and if letting those who aren't worthy die is the means I choose, so be it.

Elliot sighs. "Please. Let me go...I have to help them...." a small tear rolls down his face. "Damnit, I live here too! Let me be judged by your means as well, if you're that fond of me..."

Faust laughs. "Of course. But you must wait until the right moment. I can't have you saving those who aren't meant to be saved..."

Faust lets the boy struggle for a little longer, watching the young pyromaster's house be destroyed. "Well, that cannot be good for him, can it?"

"Kiress!" Elliot, screams and tries to see what was happening, but he was stuck facing the other way. "What are you doing, you b*****d!?"

"What? You are a feisty one, aren't you?" He sighs, watching his waves be destroyed be a passing aeromaster and then narrows his eyes at Kazuya, who had broken his vines with barely any effort at all. "Alright. You are free to go now. I suppose we'll meet again?" He walks back to the clock face. "Oh, but before I go, I just want to tell you: watch out for Flint...he's back." With that, he snaps his fingers and disappears in a cloud of smoke, releasing the channeler in the process.

Elliot throws his hands forward, launching a mason brick at the clock face, shattering the thing into pieces. His sheild forms around him, almost like giant white wings, and he leaps out the hole he made, back into the city.

((Hey, I have my owm little forum, too!! WOO!!))

Faust paces the tower's highest tier, watching the telomaster storm off. That man had some definite issues regarding his new charge. He turns as Elliot walks in.
"Master...you know I hate doing that...why does it always come back to hurting them?" He joins the German in watching the Circle.
"They must learn to accept thing as they are, kind. Otherwise they will necome slaves to Flint...or worse I'm sure."
Elliot sighs and crosses his arms over himself. His thoughts turn back to Kazuya, and he closes his eyes, hoping somehow the man would forgive him.
Faust smiles at the boy, taking him by the arm. "Do not worry yourself over that man...if he truly cares about you, he will come to his senses and talk to you." He laughs quietly. "I am not ignorant to the things love can make you do..." he trails off, remembering why he sold his soul.
He blanches. "Love?! Wha-where did you get that? What the--" he splutters for a moment.
Faust only smiles knowingly and changes the subject. "Come, kind. We must prepare. There is much to learn."

He walked into the presenance of the towering clock. He went to its side and sat, in its shade. Humming a tune. He strenched and began to fall asleep. It was good to sleep not fearing being caught while going so.

Elliot follows his master inside, but not before glancing over the side and spying the stranger resting in the shade at the bottom. I hope he's safe there... He just hoped he wouldn't be knocking stones or something down onto the unsuspecting guy.
Faust sweeps ahead of the boy, not noticing the other. "Come, Elliot. We don't have much time."
