This might be a little long so bear with me. So saturday i took my two boys (Eric is 5yrs old and weighs 61 lbs -he's also the height of a 7 or 8 yr old lol, and Alec is almost 16months but fairly petite and often mistaken for a bit younger) down to walmart to have pictures done. Its been a long time plus its tradition to get them done for our christmas cards. Eric is autistic and so our quick pictures took over an hour. Needless to say at the end of it we were all sleepy, hungry and a bit frazzled. I put the kids in a cart and pay for our pictures. At this point the kids are screaming because hello theyre hungry and we are in a walmart super center. Plus Alec missed his nap. Now for those of us with kids particuarly one bigger one smaller youll understand this better. Eric was sitting in the basket of the cart kinda sideways with his back in kitty corner to the front right corner of the basket and Alec was fastened into the seat. Because there was so much weight in the front of the cart you sorta have to steer from the back and almost lift it around to make it turn especially since the weight was off center. So we make our way to the food section for the animal crackers which of course is the complete other end of the store. Along the way i ask eric to sit with his back the right way 3 times because the cart is veering wildly to one side. The third time i said it more sternly but i didnt yell or raise my voice. He finally looked up and moved lol. As i make the final turn to the endcap that holds the oh so glorious animal crackers and reach for them this lady in a sweet voice says "excuse me young lady" and places a hand on my shoulder. Thinking she's lost or going to comment on my beautiful daughter who is a boy lol (it happens alot) i turn and say "Yes? Can i he.." thats as far as i got. Here is the rest of this conversation: LADY:"Your disgusting! I followed you from the portrait studio! I saw your whole session, i saw everything!" ME: "You followed me?" LADY:"Yes i did and you know what your the white trash i hear about on the radio shaking your kids!" ME: "Um..huh?" LADY:"Shaking your cart like that. Your going to kill those kids" ME:"No mam actually because of the weight in the front of the cart you have to steer from back here. If you'd like you can push it and see for yourself" LADY:"Liar! I saw you" ME :"Ok" *starts to walk away* LADY: *follows me still screaming* "Why you runnin? I'm gonna call the police! I'm gonna follow you outside ..write down your plate... find you.. take your kids!" ME :*actually running my kids are petrified screaming and throwing animal crackers at this point* LADY:"Why you running you white trash slut!?!" ME :"Because a crazy woman is chasing me!" This went on for about 2 more minutes till i found a manager and she literally hid. The manager stayed with us till she left and provided a escort to our car to make sure everything was ok. this lady looked insane ..her eyes were huge and wild like she was on crack or something and she was screaming at the top of her lungs. Now maybe it's just me but i can't seem to figure out what the heck happened. Neither can my mom who was there with me . Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Did i do something? Does any of this make sense. Because right now i feel like i did somethign but i know i didnt it's really wierd.

Just sounds like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Crazy old woman. It doesn't sound to me like you did anything wrong. I wouldn't worry about it.

~ ~ Wow, that's just crazy. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It seems a lot of people would rather just judge than actually listen to what you have to tell them.

Thanks you guys. I didn't think i did anything wrong either. This is why i already have all my christmas shopping done and avoid most stores like the plague until after christmas. The holidays seem to bring out the crazies lol. I'm still traumatized and haven't been back to that walmart. xD

oh my goodness. i am so sorry you had to deal with that. to answer your question yeah i do live above a crazy woman who tries to get people in trouble when she doesn't get her way. good idea going to a store manager. i would not have thought to do that. i probably would have wanted to get out of there and and she would have gotten my lisence plate and there would be an investigation.
i'm gonna head straight to security gaurd or a cop if i'm ever treated like that now.

Whoa that's really scary. I'm glad you went to a manager. Hope you don't ever have to go through that again. What a nut!

You have done nothing wrong, you where just unfortunate enough to have run into a nutcase. Her hiding after you spoke to the manager just shows that she was in the wrong or she would have talked to him herself. She was probably just bored and needed somebody to nag. I know what it's like to have a picture taken with a child who's on special needs. My oldest has Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of autism (but not as bad) It must be very hard for you to juggle 2 kids to begin with, so don't worry about that nagging old hag.

killah_maiden Oh my goodness what a crazy woman! Im sorry you had to go through that, crazy people like that shouldn't be allowed to go outside. Ive had a similar experience except that the woman thought I was a teen mother and she kept telling me I was going to hell. LOLI've had that too. Except i was a teen mom. A woman i worked with told me babies shouldnt have babies. That i should do gods work and give it to a good religious family who desperatly wanted kids =/ My god fathers wife gave me the card to their adoption agency ..but they didnt want my baby because he was biracial. However i had these wierd people that all had matching "god loves everyone" tshirts come up to me when my son was a newborn and tell me how brave i was to have my baby, and not have an abortion. They all hugged me and said that they and god were proud of me and loved me too. It was actually very soothing lol. So there are some good people. 90 percent of my family still doesnt talk to me because i kept my oldest son. They are very racist though. But i love him just the same =)

You should of calmly replied "I'm sorry you weren't shaken enough as a child." and walked off. right after the whole killing the kids line.
Sorry, that's crap. It's even more crap that it had to happen in front of your kids.

I'm sorry for your ordeal! Hopefully that won't happen again. You did the right thing in finding a manager, they probably would have escorted her out...except then she might be there, lurking *shudder* Jaithien that and my grandmother (father's side) calling me "the girl" as opposed to my name. My grandmother used to call me "girl" when we were in public when I was little, but that's just because she didn't want strangers knowing my name and trying to kidnap me!
