A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila

MTV.com
Are you ready for the ultimate battle of the sexes? Well, you better be 'cause there's about to be an all-out war over cyber hottie Tila Tequila!

Although Tila has racked up more than 2 million MySpace friends, she still hasn't found "the one," and she's ready to do anything to find him -- or her! This self-proclaimed "bisexual freak" has had her heart broken by men and women, and she's tired of being alone. With our help, she's inviting 16 luscious lesbians and 16 sexy straight guys over to her place for A Shot of Love With Tila Tequila. Yes, it's time for Tila to unfurl her freak flag and find true love.

At first, the guys and girls won't know about each other. But once Tila narrows the field down to a few of her favorites, she's going to tell them all that she's bi. And when the two sides learn they have to vie for her affection, all hell breaks loose. There'll be hair pulling, sucker punching, ball-busting and, er, even some butt waxing. Oh, and let's not forget threesomes. There's bound to be at least a few of those. But all is fair in love and war, right?

Even though Madonna has milked it, Angelina Jolie embraced it and TV shows like The O.C. and One Tree Hill have flirted with it, bisexuality is still the stuff of winks and nudges. But with A Shot at Love, Tila Tequila hopes to thrust the taboo into the spotlight and prove that flaunting your sexuality can be -- and should be -- fun. While Tila is dead serious about finding someone to get serious with, she's just not sure if she wants a relationship with a man or a woman. Who will win her heart?

Going where no dating show has gone before, A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila pits men against women in a number of romantic challenges, all in an effort to win Tila's attention and affection. But just because Tila can't decide which sex suits her best doesn't mean the girl doesn't know what she wants. In fact, she knows exactly what she's looking for in a partner, and she'll keep kicking out potential suitors one by one until she finds Mr. or Ms. Right. May the best sex win!

Has anyone else been watching this show? Okay, I admit that I hadn't originally, but a bunch of the gaysian girls got me started on it. You can watch the show online for free here at MTV.com, by the way. :] It's the first bisexual dating show, at least as far as I know, and it's pretty breakthrough in a lot of ways. But...

I don't even know what to say about it, so I'll just ask for your opinions first. What do you guys think? What do you like about it, and what don't you like about it?

More importantly, how does this show represent bisexuals, lesbians, and the queer community? What are some good things about this representation, and what are some negative things about it? Does this reinforce stereotypes?

And of course...is it hot or what? What are some of your favorite parts? Who are you rooting for? (So far among my friends, it's a completely unanimous vote for butch Dani~)

To be completely honest, I stumbled upon the show by accident and have become completely addicted to it.

I too am totally rooting for Dani! heart

To be honest, I think it does go a little stereotypical for some genders: the super aggressive male and the cat-fighting female. Also, the women run around in next to nothing wink (but so does domenico eek )

Despite the fact that its a little bit of a shallow show, I am positively in love with it and I cant wait for the next episode.
I hate dating shows, but I love this one. dramallama

I totally agree with what you've said--that's kind of why this is my guilty pleasure show. XD; (LOL on Domenico, by the way~)

Yeah, I have to admit that I kind of hate most dating shows, but this one is actually pretty entertaining. =__=;; Especially because of the gay. Mostly because of the gay, in fact.

I love this show! It's so fun. Right now I really want Dani to win, but my favorite person on the show was Brandi. I think if she didn't leave the show she would have won.

Haha wow, I'm really glad there are a few others watching this.

Brandi totally might have won, she certainly seemed to have a good shot at it.

Actually, for the most part I felt that the girls seemed better connected to Tila, like they related better and I could actually see good relationships and such going on between them. Amanda and Dani, for instance, both had things that I thought might make a pretty decent basis for a relationship. I really didn't see anything from the guys. I'm wondering if this is because of the show's editing to appeal to the straight guys and lesbians I'm sure love the girl on girl stuff more, or if it's just because of the girls connecting with girls or Tila in general.

Oh, I don't mean like explicit content or something. I'm just saying that they thought that clips with the guys were more boring, so they might have put in fewer of those than clips of the girl-on-girl stuff. 'Cause obviously with reality shows there are unbelievable amounts of footage as they film everything, and they select what actually gets put into the episodes. So they might have just included more stuff with the girls 'cause they thought people would like it more.

I saw A Shot At Love like once... And although it was quite funny, I'm not all too into it... *shrugs* I'm not much into dating shows all together and this show especially reminded me of Strange Love. And I despised that show. But so many people at my school seem to be obsessed with it. Straight girls, gay guys, Lesbians, bis, just... everyone.

I'll admit I have been watching this show a lot lately, and it has interest me a bit. But what I hate is all the drama (like all the fights, arguments etc.) Other than that, I do find it entertaining. It does beat watching those other shows that my family watches a lot (I Love New York, and Rock of Love nonsense.)

You should still be able to watch it, it's on the MTV website. All the full episodes and a bunch of other random stuff, and it's all for free. =O
