No one actually know for sure unless you get your DNA read. They can claim all they want unless they actually had it done.

Are you suggesting that there actually are people out there with altered DNA? You know, as in some sort of hybrid/not human/ evolutionary state that is genetically passed on? I mean for your DNA to register any brand of "otherkin" is crazy...unless somewhere along the line your family had sex with another spieces and got pregnant (which doesn't happen with humans and other spieces). This idea is poorly thought out at best. Otherkin is a "spiritual" term. Or a term used to describe a person's mental state, any effect that is physical is more than likely self created. As a side note, if someone had physical signs of being otherkin, I'm not sure how it would fit into discussion in this guild. It would be more science at that point than something paranormal.

There is actually spiritual DNA strand in our body. It is possible that some families bloodline did mingo with other species.
It really depend on what your believes are and the way you define the terminology Otherkin.
Also, I view paranormal as a type of science, more like a step ahead of science. Everything is related just depend from which angle/perspective you are looking at and from.

Yeah, theres ideas about how like physical DNA, people have something like spiritual DNA. Its not a stretch of the imagination to think you can read one kinda like the other (with respective reality differences).
Theres ideas that things can pass down bloodlines, like genetic disorders, and so theres ideas that thinks like being part (I think fairly diluted) otherkin can be passed down family trees.
I'm far from a credible expert since I still have little to no interest and have not persued these theories and/or topics in any real form.

I've never heard of spiritual DNA, where could I go for more information on this concept? Does spiritual DNA have physically noticable traits then or is it still something intangible? -shrug- probably.
Since it is traditionally believed that the fae (especially in gaelic/celtic tradition) are our ancestors. Or that even deity, especially the Sidhe or Tuatha de Danann were the first 'people', therefore our ancestors...
Hmm..
Other than that. Bloodwise. There are witches... But that isn't really an otherkin type.
Also... with the spiritual DNA thing (not sure if this is what you meant) - It is commonly believed (at least, again, in celto-gael countries) that you would reincarnate into your own clan. And.. we've often seen that when we have a new child born into the family that "feels" like someone.. Or even with a pet adopted into the family.

The basic definition is 'other-than human'. Whether it be within a human body or outside of it. The more or less probability of it doesn't matter.
