Bam!
This morning, I had Regis and Kelly on in the living room while I was booting my computers up for the day. They were doing their usual chat when Regis blurts out that he had read that Food Network plans to drop Emeril Lagasse's most famous program. The network claims a lack of willingness to negotiate a new long term contract as the reason for the end of the show.
His Essence of Emeril will remain on the air.

From the glut of new shows with dubious credentials, this is hardly a surprise. With the loss of two of their other big name chefs, I believe they're tired of paying for big egos and long lifespans in their programming.
I'm sorry to see the end of Emeril Live. I dreamed of going to New York and attending one of the episodes. cheese_whine
