I want to know whether you think that bisexuality is a fad in society or whether some people really are that way. Do you think that is a bunch of...people who want sex that are willing to be with what ever has two legs or that people genuinely are born wanting both?
Is bisexuality just an unimaginable acceptance of whoever you love no matter the gender?
I, as one, side with the idea that it isn't a fad but an honest sexuality but I want to know what you think.

I think it isn't a fad or whatever. It is innate willingness to love and be with a person no matter what their sex. For whatever its worth, I think that is a good thing. 3nodding

Well seeing that I am one, and have always like girls and guys, even as a kid, absolutely side with the idea of it being an honest sexuality.
But I also know for a fact that there are a bunch of fake girls out there (specially in my school) who just say they're bi to get to the boys... Or just because it seems to have become a trend of some sort. =.=

I recently found out I'm bi because even though I like guys I find myself attracted to girls too. It's weird, but I;m not ashamed and it's no fad either.

Well, it is a fad now. I know there are many bisexuals in the world, but less than people think. The term pansexual seems more like the term that I consider these true 'bisexuals'.
I have too many 'bisexuals' friends who think being in a relationship with a girl is gross, even though they insist they are okay with making out with them. These are some what slutty people. Pardon my language.
Some girls think it will attract guys and that it's 'hot'. I feel this demeans the term, the people who struggle with being open about their sexuality, and anyone who has been victimized by homophobia, because these, most commonly, girls do not really face this.
Bisexuals who truly honour the term and feel equal attraction to both sexes, I salute you and respect you.

It has become a bit of a fad, I know only because of all of the 'bisexual' girls in my school who are completely against in being in a relationship with a girl while still saying that they are 'bisexual'. I know that there are true bisexuals though, because I know at least one... I respect those who are not just using the word as a false label to attract attention. Also, I fully agree with lil_ninja_58's last line in the above quote and tried to say something along those lines without it being completely the same.

I really hate to say it but it's becoming a fad. A lot of girls i know are claiming themselves "Bi" but do not want a relationship with another girl. They kiss other girls because they think guys will find it "hot" or they do it as a joke.
Myself, i think that is wrong. I was completely lead on by one of those girls. I really liked someone and she claimed she liked me then started dating a guy but continued flirting with me and kissing me. It took me awhile to realize she was just doing it for the attention.
Her best friend is a lesbian and is just catching on the girls joke. Now that girl is all sad because she's losing best friend and doesn't understand why.
Personally, i think that love is love and to me it does not matter what is between the legs. Im not in it for sex anyway so why should gender matter? Where i live it's hard to find a true bisexual.

in all honesty i believe love all together has become a fad. If you have not noticed the world seems to think they love someone then three months later its someone else. Even i, being young, am guilty of that.
What i can't stand though is all these divorces. Some people that are truely in love are being denied the right to marry while others are fully taking advantage of it. It hurts me to see so many people get married then divorce soon after, barily making it a year.

This is from my experience: most "bisexual" teens are so horny, they're just willing to jump whatever moves.
In the case of some, yes, it is a fad. The ultimate form of rebellion against ones parents, without having to give up on the opposite gender, is to claim bisexuality.
However, some people are honestly turned on by both. Technically speaking, sexuality is what you're attracted to. Just as "pansexual" is used by some to describe an attraction to someone regardless of gender, "bisexual" is used for someone with an attraction to both genders.

I think that sexuality shouldn't be used to attract people and that bisexuality is an honest sexuality and that people that are genuinely bisexual should get the same amount of respect in their sexuality as homosexuals and heterosexuals. I think that the people that use their sexuality are just subscribing to the fad and are tarnishing the name of genuinely bisexual people.

I'm a bi sexual but i do think its a fad.. i have seen people alot and it just seems to me that people these days don't know what bi sexuality is.. it kinda stinks though becuase im my situation i can't really tell people other wise i would be an outcast.. but i think people should be more respectful and understanding but i think that seems to hard these days

I say it's both. It really annoys me that there are people who claim to be bisexual but really aren't but I also hate it when people want to say or insist you're bicurious or "just going through a phase" not bisexual just because of certain facts...like, for example, I haven't really been in a relationship with another woman offline or with two people at the same time offline (one female one male) but I have online and if I was lucky enough to "find" somebody offline , regardless of their gender if they were nice to me...I knew they liked me back enough to wanna give dating me a chance, ect. I would date them.
I hate it when people use terms like "slutty" to describe people ....yeah, it's stupid that they are claiming to be bisexual and all when they're not but I wouldn't call them slutty. Idiots, maybe, but not slutty. I don't even like people "joking" about other people supposedly being "slutty".
Because there _are_ people who will claim to be bisexual, it's a fad.
And that's kinda depressing, frustrating, and annoying.
Because there's people like me who are serious about being bisexual.
