The 360 just lost some more potential Japanese players with some weird territorial dispute thing... I don't even know what's going on... Something about Microsoft banning names containing words with regards to the Takeshima... place... thing... I have no idea what it is... A piece of land that Korea and Japan is fighting over for no real reason I guess... (It's uninhabited, and holds little to no value...)

And supposedly the demographic that plays the 360 in Japan are mainly Hardcore gamers who are all supposedly ultra-conservative nationalist...

So... yeah... I know... It's ridiculous...

Here's a video demonstrating the banned usage of the word, some wacky comments from people, a screenshot, and a report from a news site (Note : it's in Japanese. Hopefully one of the major news outlet will pick this news up later, and report it in English.) that I rarely use...

Another nail in the coffin for the 360 in Japan?

Weird news days...

I don't even understand any of this. Microsoft banned a word? Can it do that?

MS/Fans aren't really screwed because we don't have Japan. It's not like America is boycotting Microsoft... it'd be different if we lost an ally. The Xbox has never really been tight in Japan.

Daxel pretty much summed it up:

So basically, Microsoft doesn't want to get caught in a War by labling a piece of useless undecided land, and Korea and Japan are shunning em for it?

First, the teddy bear thing, then, some chic get's raped, and SHE goes to jail for it, now this.
Oh Great One, what the hell is next.......

The more I think about it, the more I hope things like Cloverfield and Year Zero come true, only on a mass world scale.

I'm starting not to like the, "quote" option. Unfortunately, I kept thinking if the 360 doesn't do better in other countries it won't be what MS is aiming for.
