Pardon? ...It appears the gauntlet has been thrown down.
Truly, you expect too much from me. Let me finish catching up on the other threads, then we'll see if I've the time to spare for your silly diversions.

A no-show? Hmm...

The latter, I am not ashamed to admit. I have let you down.
Funny, I usually don't like disappointing people, but for you I'll make an exception.

Of course you do. You're the one who claims to be fond of pain, after all. Rejoice, it shall come aplenty along with my retaliation for such outrageous neglect.

Oh, no need to rush things... you are free to wander wherever your capricious mind may take you... I know you'll be back for the inevitable.

May I be so kind as to intrude, and tread upon the grounds my peers have auspiciously laid out before me?

Ah yes, I had forgotten that this was not the time for pleasantries, but the time for action. Have at thee sir, if you possess the audacity to do so that is.

It was nothing to do with pleasantries or platitudes, to be honest with you.
Intruding upon anything is rarely considered 'kind'.
*"May I be so kind as to interrupt this conversation you are having?" *"May I be so kind as to walk through your newly planted flowerbed?" *"May I be so kind as to read that letter over your shoulder?"
See what I mean?
Now if you'd asked, would you be so kind as to allow me to intrude, I would have said 'Why certainly'.
Asking a favour of any degree usually means the other party is the 'kind' one, assuming they acquiesce.
*You can ask nicely. --It is kind to ask.
But 'intruding', itself, is not kind, merely the act of asking before doing so.
