Teh Boogiepop Otaku says... I have a question about the flowers. I just started reading this book, and I understand the concept of the flowers on people's chest that Asukai sees, but what specifically do the roots, stems, leaves, and buds stand for? Anyone know?

Me. Sort of.
The leaves are for kindness, for reaching out to others. The flower itself is for passion, for fervor for everyday life and the ability to fall in love. The roots are stabiltiy and determination, I think, but that one I'm not so sure on. The stem is confidence.
In addition, there are thorns, meaning agressiveness. It's not mandatory to have on the flower, and it isn't a big deal if you don't have them, I think...
If you're missing one, you lack that particular trait.
That's the basics, I'm not going into too much detail here.
I lack a stem. : D
But I love how Boogiepop descibed it. The heart cannot be confused the ego, the true self. It evolves through interaction with people, and even if you do mess with it, it has chance to recover.

Teh Boogiepop Otaku says... Thanks. That helps. I just think I'll understand the story better with that. I'm not sure what I'm missing, or If I even am. It's all there, but some points are stronger that others.

I had to read the begining several times before getting the whole book. I do reccomend re-reading ever book, there's always something in there we didn't get from the first time. Since I'm just a kid, that's just learning symbolism, I have to re-read to understand.
