This is kind of a personal affair, but I've been interested lately in third-gender/genderqueer.
You can wikipedia it for further details, but basically, genderqueer and third gender are terms that are used for people who identify with both or neither gender. Genderqueer can be used more specifically to describe people who openly express a lack of conformity with gender norms.
Since this is a place where Otherkin abound, I was just wondering if any Otherkin - specifically angelic/fallen angelic Otherkin - might also consider themselves as third gender or genderqueer. I understand that it's a really personal question, so feel under no obligation to answer.
Personally speaking, I've always thought gender was a strange imposition, since, to my mind, gender begins and ends in the body, and the body is impermanent. But that's just my skewed take on it, so I'd love to hear you guys' opinions. ^_^

Quote: but basically, genderqueer and third gender are terms that are used for people who identify with both or neither gender. Oh, this is definitely an ongoing thing for me. I don't relate to gender very well at all...I always feel androgynous, and even when I look in the mirror, I'm shocked at my reflection. I've wondered the same thing, if it's related to the whole angel thing or what...

I've wondered the same thing, if it's related to the whole angel thing or what... I get that feeling with mirrors, too. XD Here's a cool quote about it that expresses my thoughts very well. I thought I'd share. Quote: "For humans, it is the heart and soul that matters, and the soul has a place to go back to where gender does not matter."- Mana of the Japanese band Moi dix Mois In other words, we're all stranded here in these bodies, but that doesn't mean we have to be limited to them. ^^ Incidentally, it seems that throughout the ages, third-gendered or gender-neutral people have been revered or even deified as having a closer connection to the Divine than others. For instance, the prophet and seer Tiresias, who helped Oedipus discover his origins, supposedly had both male and female traits and was transfigured into a woman for a period of several years. Shamans who exhibited gender fluidity were also revered for their power.

:/ I have to say mostly everything about me and in me is purely female. I've never had really a male entity in me, though it would be interesting. But my two others. I know for sure one if a female and purely an angel. So there are probably your third gendered as you speak, but I myself haven't seen any in the angels, demons, or whatever else there may be. :/ But it would be interesting to see one and meet one.

So there are probably your third gendered as you speak, but I myself haven't seen any in the angels, demons, or whatever else there may be. :/ But it would be interesting to see one and meet one. Most of the angels I have run into do have a more masculine or feminine bent to their appearance (how they appear to me at least). I actually can't recall meeting an angel whose gender I couldn't discern--masculine or feminine. However, I probably didn't say things too well earlier because of how disoriented I was. I am more feminine than masculine, for sure. I get comments a lot on how feminine I am. That's not a problem for me. However, if it comes down to biology, I don't relate to having a biological sex at all. If I was born the way I feel, I'd be sexless, the opposite of hermaphrodites, which I've met a few people who relate more to that. In other words, people can call me feminine, I don't mind because it's true. But saying I'm female is where the trouble starts for me.

I am an elf. With saying that, I go on to explain my "gender." Lately, I don't feel like a female (I was born physically female); I'd rather be a male. I hate girlyness and wearing girl's clothing. I love the guy's look. Eventually, I want to become a male. So I'm gonna see my therapist.
On that note, I do not think of myself as third gender/genderqueer. I feel like a male in a female body - or at the least, a more assertive, aggressive, arogant female. I miss being in the past for I was those things (except for being male), so I guess I'm trying to revert back.

I'm trying to get all these terms straight just because I think it's important...
