I know this is kind of off topic but can you still call yourself a Buffy fan if you like the program Charmed? I think you can, but I know a few people who think that Charmed is Buffy's rival show, therefore if you like it you must be rivaling Buffy. Is it possible to be fans of both?

i like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Roswell and X-Files...i dont see y u cant like shows that are of the same genre without feeling like u r betraying one to the other

*blinks* I fail to see how it's a rival show, considering they were on the same network on different nights. If you mean in the sense that because they are the same genre and watching one would somehow make you not want to watch the other... it's still a moot point. Sure, both shows had some of the same ideas (ie. powerful women fighting the supernatural) but they were totally different.
That being said, I don't think anyone would be less of a Buffy fan if they watched Charmed. I watched both, and I still consider myself a Buffy fan. Actually if anything, I would think that Angel was a rival show even though it was a spinoff. It took three (sometimes more depending on crossovers) castmembers from Buffy, set itself in a new location and yes, it even stole some of the fanbase (on more then one occassion I've talked Buffy fans that have switched to being 'Only Angel' fans - though whether this is more from David Boreanaz then anything else I'm not sure).
And come on, does Buffy The Vampire Slayer really have a rival? (Besides the myriads of Big Bads that is?)

i dont see anything wronge with liking Charmed , I still watch buffy and I watch Angel when I can but I am still a big fan of Buffy.

I don't personally like Charmed but i do like other shows than Buffy (Angel, CSI, Friends etc) and it doesn't matter if you like other shows.

Ofcourse you still can be a Buffy fan if you also like charmed. I know the shows are rivals, but it is also almost the same fantasy world. So, it is kinda normal if you like both of the shows. 3nodding

Dude. You totally can!! I mean, I'm a charmed fan, read the books and such, watch the show. But I am also and even bigger Buffy Fan. ( plus, Buffy has comics). Also, in the end, Angel took... 5 people from buffy. Harmony, Cordy, Wesley, Spike, and Angel himself. All origanlly buffy folk, now angel folk.
Also, another good show of that genre is Roswell. I just LOVE Roswell. Read all the books I can get my hands on of them. Course, they started out as books.

Of course you can like Charmed. No one is stoping you from enjoying other shows. xp And well it is about witches right(I'm not a fan so I dont know!) so it's similar to Buffy in a sense that both shows are supernatural. 3nodding

i watch charmed sometimes but no way will i ever love it as much as i love buffy or angel. charmed isnt really of the same genre anyways. they're more of the magic stuff...

Buffy is an old love of mine i guess you could say. One that just never goes away. Charmed is a new one. It's the one that i'm currently trying to get to know as much as i know buffy. So yes, you can be fans of both.
