I couldn't afford to buy a copy, so I took it out of the library, and typed it out, all except the rune section at the back.

Yeah it talks about alot of the stuff that is really improtant but it not usually talked about in other books, it puts a new perspective on a lot of stuff and I found it extreamly helpful, even a little more helpful then Wicca guide for the solitary practitioner... anyways yeah, I just really liked it

Ah, this book. It's wonderful wonderful wonderful! I recommend it for everyone starting Wicca.
(Although in my case, my first book on witchcraft was "Where to Park your Broomstick: A Teen's Guide to Witchcraft")

I am actually not really a fan of Silver RavenWolf, I have two of her books To Ride a Silver Broomstick and To Stir a Simmering Cauldron or something like that. The first book was ok, but there were a couple things wrong with it, and the Cauldron book just really sucked and complicated things. I would not recommend it unless you are really in to Pow wow magic. I think she is mainly in to writing books for the money. Not to say that her books are total crap but there are better ones out there. Then again this is just my opinion.

hehe... I've been to that site more than once.

My fiancee and teacher swears by Ravenwolf, and he gave me To Ride A Silver Broomstick as a gift. To be honest I haven't read it all, so I refuse to make judgement one way or another.

Anne Moura's Green Witchcraft were my beginner guides and I stick by those. A bit wordy they might be but they are very good references.

Yeah well to each there own, I actually was looking at Green Witchcraft at a book store on saturday. I was debating weather to buy it or not. I eventualy decided to not buy anything that day because I am holding out for a book on cerimonial magic. I was greatly tempted to. I am a big believer in reading anything you can get your hands on. The "good" books and the "bad", they can all teach us something

Do any of you have Scott Cunningham's Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner? It's the follow up, and I actually found it very useful organizing myself.
