Lithomancy is just a fancy way of saying divination done by using stones, rocks, and/or crystals.
One night, a year or so ago, I had a dream that a big situation was going on dealing with people I cared about. I reached into my pocket, and procured a small velvet bag. Quickly, I drew out three cleanly-cut stones and let them fall gently above the ground. I can still remember the key stone, a small, lavender piece of amethyst cut as if for jewelry into the shape of a heart, about the size of my thumbnail.
I've tried the tarot, and various oracles. I have a good success rate, but I have to rely heavily on books because the card meanings just don't seem overly intuitive to me. After the dream, I asked a few people if it was possible to do divination with crystals, a subject I'm deeply drawn to, and they replied not that they know of.
The other day, however, I was browsing Grey School's class list and saw Divining with Crystals 101. I began researching on yahoo, trying to find a set system for how it would work. Each website had something different; even the crystal's meanings are not universal. I then decided last night to try and come up with my own system, a daunting task since I've never done anything remotely like this before.
As you can imagine, since I'm trying to develop a system from the ground up based a lot on my own ideas and intuitions, I'm going to need a LOT of practice and refining. I could test readings out on myself, but validity would become a problem. Validity in this case is important; without it and without criticism, I can't improve my method.
So what am I asking of you guys, oh dear guild-mates and friends? Ask me a question. Any question, or a nod in the direction to a situation, event, person, or theme you would like to see if I can find insight into for you. Go ahead. You know you want to.
