Gankutsuou is an adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo, some book written by a dead dude.

It's a very moving 24 episodes.

Mainly it focuses in sweet bitter REVENGE. and i guess love.

Oh, and there’s hot dudes....

One of my favorite things~ heart

The animation is so pretty and unique and I love to see the story from Albert's perspective instead of the Count...and it's just wonderful all around. And the music was excellent. And it made me cry. A lot.

I just love the Count of Monte Cristo in general. The novel is so good, and I love the 2002 film version (pretty scenery! and Mercedes was hot!)...good stuff. A really timeless story.

I wonder where everyone went.............

I adore the animation and effects in this anime.
it was very beautiful........
and it also had a good plot with solid characters

I'm only halfway through this anime, but I agree, the animation is stellar. The plot is intriguing, but I'm a character-based person: I grow attached to shows based on the characters, not the plot, setting, art style, etc. And I just don't like any of the characters in this show sad
