Your chance to own the original Monkeemobile is coming up January 12-20, 2008 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale AZ. The infamous car that hauled around The Monkees in the 60’s was restored at Advanced Restorations in fall of 2006. It is in the best condition of its life, but the owner George Barris is ready to let this great car go on to the next phase of its life.
My hubby is Barrett-Jackson obsessed, so I will let you know what it goes for.

That car should be in a museum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .lol. sry, just the thought of someone that dosent' like the monkees touching their car makes me mad! .lol.

There are a few Barris TV creations going up also: The Beverly Hillbillies Clampett Mobile, and a Batmobile, too.

even though it's a pontaic GTO, it definitely gotta go to a musuem for all the monkeemanics. xd but ot would be totally awesome to own

I believe it sold for $360,000. I don't know if it went to a museum. At that price it may have well been a private collector.

totally wish I had that kinda money!God Knows I'd buy it is I could.
Then I dunno if I'd sell it to a museum myself or drive it a bit first.
Though If I drove it...... I would totally be UN-peace, love and understanding if someone even gave it the TINIEST of a scratch. lol
