this may sound cheesy but what really is better brains or strength

I prefer brains. Partially, because well, alot of the 'brawn' group can't hold an intelligent conversation(no offense to those who can, it's just a stereotype that is often true...). And, well, brawn may be able to force something physically, but brains can force something mentally, which is far more itneresting to watch.

((Plus, smart people are very attractive. >.<))

Depends entirely on the sittuation.

Obviously if you're trying to escape from a predator, being physically weak is a major penalty point on your end. surprised

I can't answer the poll because I chose both. I train both my mind and body to be strong. It is pointless to be smart but to weak and slow to do the plain yourself. And it is pointless to be fast and powerful if you don't know how to use them to your advantage.

If I was to put a smart person in square pit with hard walls and nothing to use at tools other than their cloths, it is pointless for them to know how to get out of the pit if they are too weak and slow to do it. Likewise of I was to put fast and powerful person in the pit, it is pointless that he/she has the ability to get out of the pit but is too dumb to see the answer.

For people like me it is not brain vs brawn, it is brain and brawn.

hmm, in the grand scheme of things they are equal

you need both equally as much

Yeah, I would say that brains and brawn are equal... Both are necessary in any other situations other than those applied specifically to them - i.e., you would need brains to ace exams while you would also need brawn to, say, ace gymnastics and other physical stuff :3

In the short term, both have their advantages. But in the long term, brains are far more valuable. If Einstein had been the strongest man in the world instead of one of the smartest, he may have been in the Guinness Book of World Records later on, but he would not have contributed nearly as much to human society.

Also, consider this: which job is likely to pay more, the kind for strong but otherwise unskilled laborers, or the kind that does not require a great deal of physical strength but requires a lot of training and intelligence? The kind of job that involves planning and design?

There are probably exceptions, but generally the one giving directions or making plans will be the one making more money. Therefore I say that brains are better than brawn.

if einstein had no strength he could not breathe nor move in order to function you need intelligience and strength equally

The question is too abstract. There are many factors and variables one must consider.

I'd say a bit of both. You need brains, but having some brawn would be useful as well.

It really depends on the situation. In a chess match, brains would be needed, but if being attacked by someone, brawn would come in handy.

You cannot survive without either.

As mentioned above... Brains alone will not prevail over pure ruthless strength. On the other hand pure strength will not prevail with overwhelming tactics... you need a combination.

Of course, in theory a great tactician could beat even the strongest mindless foe... but without an army of his own no tactician or strategist can win.

In today's society brute strength will get you no where.

What if I do not want to choose? I love both. However... if you are talking about this in terms of a man, then brains. I have to have a man I can talk to. For myself, it would also be brains. Well, there you have it: brains.
