whats Your opinion on animes based on games? Lately, I've been getting into the megaman NT series and was wondeering how everyone else felt about such shows that get ideas from games.
... you can hate me for posting such a thing if you want....

Up to the date, I think I've seen like... Zero game-based anime I didn't watch one or two episodes of and moved on.
Well, the Final Fantasy thing from a few years back was almost good enough. But it was too short.
I think the best game-based anime out there to date has to be Street Fighter 2/Alpha, the ones that sprouted from the anime movie. There was a previous incarnation, called Street Fighter Victory, but that piece of crap made the Van Damme movie look awesome.
Although on a loose definition, Digimon would be the best game-based anime I've seen.
As for the worst ever? Yugioh Capsule Monsters, hands down. (Poke-oh! >.>)

Personaly? I don't think i have yet to see a good anime based on a game.
Final Fantasy Legend of the Crystals? Ahhh featherless pink Chocobos. Final
fantasy Unlimited? Better but not still not good.
Pokemon? The anime is poor at best.
FFVII Advent Children? Pretty to look at thats all.
Star Ocean EX? It tried but did they really have to put Ashton's Barrel love into the anime?
Sonic X? Sorry worst anime I have ever seen.
Megaman Battle Network anime? Bad anime based on bad Megaman games.
The only thing worse then anime based on a video game is anime based on an American property.

If you want to see bad, though, check the Fatal Fury anime.
It's like they looked at the Mortal Kombat movie and said "hey, that's not lame enough, let's show'em lame!"
About NT, I wasn't surprised that it reeked. NT/.EXE, as a game, was the Hey You Pikachu (or the Mario Kart... Bite me fans,) of the Rockman saga, a game that had no crap to do with the saga itself and was dumbed down enough so three years old kids could beat them (Rockman, the real Rockman, on the other hand...) Mixing Yugioh, Ogre Tactics and Rockman was one baaaaaad move, Capcom...
The anime? I watched the first five episodes. Uncut. Snore snore, the main character's got an Ash complex, Rockman is a poser, Roll is the annoying fangirl she always was (except for the MvsC games,) and the villains make Dr. Wiel's gang look awesome. The only thing I gotta say on its defense is, this anime makes the Zero and X sagas look awesome. (Not ZX or X7 tho, those two aren't redeemable.)
It's not the YGO Capsule, Fatal Fury or Street Fighter Victory kind of bad, but it's still pretty bad.

I have seen Fatal Fury (Yeah it's crap)
The Tekken anime is even worse. It's like they watched the Fatal Fury anime and said "Hey, Thats not lame enough, lets show them lame."
Hey I like Mario Kart. Only racing game I will ever play. Now Mario Party ther's crap.
I want a Megaman Anime on Legends. Yes i know you don't like Ruch/Legends but I loved it, it had a great story that was never finished and the most developed characters of any Megaman series (Not Hard I know) And it had the only Special move system that actually made sense. I want the story to continue be in in another game or anime. I just don't like it that Capcom is leaving a good story uncompleted. It's capcom they like to over do stories not leave them incomplete.
Anyway thanks for those additions, more proof IMO that a good Anime based on a Video Game can't be done. And some look like they could be easy to get right.

Yaknow, they made an Animal Crossing anime Movie, it's pretty good.
It's on VJ but I don't know how long it will be there...

i don't think its bad because it doesn't make a difference if the game is based on an anime or the anime is based on a game
