Character Name: Syric Keane
Status: Scion of Thor
Side: Against the Titans
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian; American
Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois
Calling: Warrior
Job: Bartender & Bouncer
Appearance: Syric Keane is six foot six with a sturdy, muscular build and broad shoulders. Fair skinned, though not to the point of looking sickly, Syric is handsome, though not supernaturally so. Syric inherited his father's steel-gray eyes, but his hair is blond, which he inherited from his mother. He keeps his hair cut long, about shoulder length.
For clothes, Syric dresses casually, in jeans and a t-shirt, usually with a denim or leather jacket depending on what he's doing. He is sometimes seen wearing a heavy-looking gauntlet on his right hand.
Nature: In short, Syric is alot like his father. He's a brave and likeable lug who can be a bit stubborn at times. He strives to smite evil and protect the weak, and that led to a lot of trouble for Syric in his school days. Especially since he lets his fists do most of the talking.
Unlike his father, though, Syric is both more clever and slower to anger. But, when some thing does upset him, the family resemblance is uncanny.
Birthright(s): Rekkr Glove- A rune-engraved gauntlet gifted to Syric by his father, Thor. The glove covers Syric's entire right hand and extends up half-way up his forearm. It seems to hold some of Thor's power. If Syric clenches his fist in anger, electricity arcs off its metallic surface. He can utilize this power in combat, adding just that much more power to his already tremendous blows. In addition to the electricity power, Syric can touch a person, an object, or the entrance to a location with the back of his hand and leave a temporary brand there. As long as that symbol stays, Syric somehow knows when trouble befalls it's bearer. The symbol dissolves within a twenty-four hour period, and can only be revoked by the gauntlet bearer.
Weapons/Armor: Weapons- Syric doesn't use many weapons, his fists do the job just fine. When wearing his motorcycle boots, Syric has a large boot knife at his disposal.
Armor- Again, Syric prefers to be inconspicuous. He doesn't wear much other than his clothing, except for the occasional leather biker gear.
Abilities: Syric possesses tremendous strength and stamina, inherited from his father. He also has the ability to self-heal instantaneously. Lacerations, bruises, and even bullet holes can vanish before astonished onlookers' eyes, as long as Syric can concentrate.
Biography: Syric was born in a small town outside of Chicago, Illinois. He grew up without a father. His mother, Chelsea Keane, insisted that he was the result of a one night stand with a drummer from a famous rock band. Apparently his mother had a wild streak, one that Syric had to live down. He was constantly teased in school about his mother's past. That is, until he knocked some kid out for calling his mother a whore, in the seventh grade.
His mother did her best, she did. Once she learned she was pregnant, Chelsea quickly matured. She prioritized her life, scrimped and saved, and put her life on track. A young mother at 22, she took an accelerated course in accounting and started on her career a year after Syric was born.
Syric and his mother never received help, as most of his mother's family disowned them. All, it seemed, except for Syric's uncle Paul. Paul was there even when Chelsea took ill, and eventually died. Syric was seventeen.
Around the time this terrible ordeal occurred, Syric came into a large sum of money, gifted from an unknown person. He thought this unknown person might be his father, but all attempts to contact him failed.
So, with some of the money, Syric applied to a college in Chicago. He went in unsure, but with a hope to fulfill something his mother would have wanted. After a few years of changing majors, Syric couldn't find his niche. He did enjoy was helping out at Uncle Paul's Bar, the Good Knight.
On the eve of Syric's 21st birthday, on his way back to campus from the Good Knight, he and his Uncle were in a car accident. The near-fatal injuries he suffered put Syric in a hospital bed, in and out of consciousness for nearly a week. It was then that Syric received his Visitation.
Odin came to Syric and told him of his divine heritage. The All-Father unlocked some hidden power in the Scion, which he used to overcome his injuries, and informed Syric of the war with the Titans. Odin even suggested that the offending car was controlled by a titanspawn.
Once conscious again, Syric was informed that both the driver of the other car and his Uncle had died. He was alone, except for the knowledge of his divine heritage and the piece of mind that brought.
The Good Knight was willed to Syric, as well as Paul's modified Harley Davidson motorcycle. A week later he received a package in the mail, which held his Birthright, from another unknown person.
Now, Syric runs the Good Knight with a friend of his from college. He dropped out of college, hoping that his mother would understand, to fight the Titans and ready himself for the coming war.
