Alright, I have been planning to write a story for some time now, and I just can't get it going. I can find inspiration almost everywhere, but for some reason, I just can't seem to get around to writing it... Any advise or tips?

Start with something dramatic. Stick your character or charactors in a scene that you won't be able to leave alone. MAybe a fighting scene, or running, or racing or something. Never start with something boring.
The feilds were autumn brown, grass tall, yet no longer proud or green. Long since had the winter wind reduced them to the tatters they now were, barely whispering in the slight breeze.
His breath fogged the chill air, and he struggled to slow it, fearful that the people following him would see the mist above the grass.
Your start has to capture attention, Be descriptive, never start off on a normal day for your character. People like drama ^.^

My method:
Daydream about the story for a couple days. Let it stew until you feel you are mostly ready to write. Go into your room and get rid of all distractions. Make sure you've set aside a block of 30-60 minutes where you have no homework or obligations left to do and just write. Don't let yourself do anything else until you get into the 'zone'. Sometimes it takes a while to reach this state of writing, and sometimes you don't reach it. But just keep trying. =]

Well, I finally found the strength to write a prologue for my story! You can read it in my journal. (I will post it in he sharing forum. But only the prologue. The rest will remain in the journal wink ) (Not trying to advertise or anything. Sorry if it sounds like it. redface )
