Rippedstripe quietly stalked out of the warrior's den, pacing around camp, before settling down next to a tree on the outskirts of the clan. His black pelt gleamed in the sunlight that filtered through the trees, and he stared up at the sky.

Ravenpaw emerged suddenly from the apprentice den, batting at the air. She raced around the camp, playfully swiping at invisible enemies, her black fur glinting. She stumbled over a tree root near the edge of camp, tumbling into a black-furred tom. She sat up quickly, her eyes wide with fear.
"Sorry, Rippedstripe," she mumbled, the fear in her eyes growing as she thought of ways that her mentor might punish her.

"Ravenpaw, be more careful. Why don't you make yourself useful rather than pestering the clan this morning." Rippedstripe said with a sigh. "Check on some of the elders, and clean their bedding if they're awake."

Moonpaw quietly padded up to Rippedstripe. "I'll help her Rippedstripe... Unless you want me to do something else." Ravenpaw had always been a bit clumsy, and annoyed some of the elders. He didn't want her to get swatted again by them.
Mousekit raced up to Rippedstripe, "My mom said to leave her alone, so I came to you!" He bounded around Rippedstripe with a hopeful expression. "I want to learn stuff so I can be the best warrior EVER! Teach me something. Please?," he begged.

Rippedstripe nodded to Moonpaw, "You may assist her, keep her out of trouble for now." He padded to the freshkill with Mousekit behind him, grabbing a mouse for himself, tossing another to Mousekit. "Eat first, and then I'll show you something if your mom allows it." Rippedstripe said with a slight sigh, playfully nudging Mousekit's ear.

Moonpaw nodded and turned towards Ravenpaw, "Let's go. Most of the elders should be awake by now. And maybe some of our friends will be there. Just make sure not to annoy them again. They can get pretty mean in the morning."
Mousekit caught the mouse and ate it as quickly as he could. Through his last mouthful, he said, "Mom won't care. She said to do anything I wanted to as long as it isn't dangerous." He swallowed the mouse and looked up at Rippedstripe, "It isn't dangerous, is it?"

Rippedstripe finished up the mouse he was chewing on, padding over towards the edge of the clearing. "No, nothing dangerous today. Would you rather help me catch a mouse, or learn how to change bedding?" He asked sarcastically.

Ravenpaw sighed. She was always being yowled at for something by the elders. She followed her brother towards the elder den, hoping that today she'll do something right.
"I know, Moonpaw," she mewed, stumbling over a rock. She quickly caught her balance, and looked down.

Mousekit mewed, "Mouse! Just like me," ignoring the sarcasm. "When can we go Rippedstripe? Now?"
Moonpaw laughed softly as they reached the elder's den. He looked in cautiously, and padded in after he made sure no one was going to not want them there. He looked behind him, waiting for Ravenpaw to follow him.

Ravenpaw followed her brother into the elder den, bracing for some words or an order to be made sharply. She bumped into Moonpaw as her eyes got adjusted to the dim light of the den.

Fireface was waiting for them. "Ravenpaw, Moonpaw! I'm glad to see you here. I needed some young companions. It gets awfully stuffy in here. Can one of you get me some fresh-kill?" she mewed, her mind rambling slightly.

Runningshadow heard Fireface from the fresh-kill pile. "My, Fireface, do you have to be such a defiant elder?" he chuckled, while making sure he was loud enough for her to hear. "I'll bring it to you, the apprentices are hard pressed as it is."

Diamondstar woke in her den, she got up and blinked the sleep out of her eyes, and padded out of the den. Once in the camp Diamondstar looked around the camp and spotted Runningshadow "Runningshadow, can you organize the patrols?.....I'll lead a hunting party" she meowed.

Runningshadow put the blue jay down. "Sure! Ravenpaw, can you come get this for Fireface?" He walked over to the Warrior's den, looking for some worthy warriors. Immediately, Icepelt stuck out like a sore thumb. "Icepelt, I want you to lead a patrol along the river to Four Trees. And ask Rippedstripe if he wants to come." Runningshadow walked out of the den, and looked at Moonpaw. He backtracked. "Moonpaw should go, too."

Icepelt licked a patch of fur on his icy sheen. "Ok. I'll go ask Rippedstripe. I believe he's out with Mousekit right now. Mousekit's nearly of age to be an Apprentice!" he said as Runningshadow left.
((I'm a bit rusty on the map, I haven't read one of these in such a long time.))
