Okay! Due to lack of interesting-ness in the Guild so far, I decided to go on a little mission!

I want to know what bands everyone, and why they like them.

Do you like the sound... those vocals or that bass line? what's your favorite song done by them? why do you like it more than another?

Let's get some opinions and conversations started!!!

i like.... (in no particular order)

Vidoll: heard 'em before I saw 'em and enjoyed the music. got to hear more and just loved the vocals.... the guitar... everything. I've also heard some amusing stories that make me want to see a live sometime XD

Gackt: One of the first bands I got into. I just like listening to his voice. Not much more to it than liking the sound... Then there's the sheer amount of styles he's done. (stuff i have- The Sixth Day)

Miyavi: the music's fun.... I find his voice really unique and his stupid antics amusing...

need to add reasons why: Kagerou, caligari, despairs ray, dir en grey, gullet, L'arc en Ciel, Kishidan, Kozi, TMR, w-inds, and more ^__^

I like The Back Horn because of the wicked instrumentation, hard-hitting and dramatic, and ... because of the vocalist, Yamada Masashi, a man with a voice so passionate and so powerful that it can crumble any walls in existance!!

Wow, that sounded like an anime episode subtitle.

I like Quruli because they have a unique blend of pretty much every musical genre in existance ... and they do it right. There is no shortage of variety here, and the music is heartfelt enough to hit you where it counts (the soul, not just the ears.) Good stuff. Good, good stuff.

Oblivion Dust because they released some of the best rock to come out of Japan. Even if they did little experimenting in different genres, they stuck to what they knew best, and with every release, they kept on improving and improving. Plus, Ken Lloyd is a fantastic vocalist and a very talented lyricist. My favorite song by them is probably Numb, but I heart them all.

Cali=Gari because they're crazy. Their songs are always so unique and you can tell they're different from all the other indies bands out there, in a good way. Kenjirou is a ******** awesome bassist, and Shuuji's voice really stands out. And they have the bestest lives. heart

There's more, but I should be getting ready for the movies right now.

Going Steady because, simply put, they make me feel good. They've got a really fun, cheerful punk style that isn't afraid to get a little crazy that at the same time doesn't sound like sugary bubblegum pop. Mineta, the vocalist, has got a lovely voice that, while not technically perfect, suits the music - from his crazy screams to his heartwarming attempts at holding a note! Plus, they've got a killer live show and excellent backup vocals in their songs. Bonus points!

Going Steady rock a smile on your face!

Understatement? The Back Horn sucks!

And yes... Quruli even dabbled in the world of hip hop slightly with the song TEAM ROCK.

deadman because Mako has an awesome voice and I love their sound. I think the music flows very well with Mako's vocals and his voice really suits the mood/flow of the song well ^^. I think they have a unique, awesome sound made all the more "powerful" by Mako's awesome vocals. My favorite song by them is...Lunchbox, too bad the first time I heard the song my earphones were turned up and I almost blasted out my eardrums at the beginning xd . I like the song because, again, Mako's voice suits the music and I love the guitar in this one. *grins* ^^

It's no secret that I love cali=gari with all my wretched little heart. I love the innovation in sound but I also love the way Ao writes his melodies. Sometimes they're absolutely crazy and other times (like with Good-bye, Seishun Kyousoukyoku, Tadaima, etc.) the melodies are really honest and heartfelt. And then of course there's Kenjirou....oh god....Kenjirou. His snap-twangy bass is a large part of the uniqueness of cali=gari. He's just absolutely awesome.

....and it doesn't hurt that he has an absolutely fabulous a**.

Buck-Tick has become my one true love. Because Sushihead molesting his mic stand is hawt.

Okay, well.. that, and I love the music and vocals.. s**t, I'm not fangirly enough.

I also like the Pierrot music that isn't bad. (Smiley Skeleton, I'm looking at you.) I don't really have too many reasons.. nice vocals, nice sounds? Give me a few weeks, I'll find a reason...

my favorite bands are the back horn, kagerou, kagrra, and pierrot

the back horn: i love the way yamada sings, screams, and dances xd . his voice is very dramatic and very... um, what's a better word for "the best thing ever"? i'm also fond of the catchy music that accompanies his voice. 3nodding

kagerou: i love how kagerou songs can be all "AAAARRHGGHGAAHUGHHH" one second, and then have the catchiest a** non-hard chorus ever. the melodies 3nodding i really like the way daisuke sings, yells, etc. yuana does good things with his guitar ( heart the solos). people often compare kagerou to deg, and i dislike that. i don't dislike deg, but deg is very different from kagerou. stare

kagrra: sooooooooo good. koto and bamboo flute + electric guitars = a happy me. an example of why i love kagrra would be oumaga toki. i so enjoy that song. i need to romanji the lyrics so i can sing along like a dork. that's another thing, isshi. he does the low pitch switch to high pitch thing better than anyone 3nodding he is a good. (edit, the first jrock bands i heard were hide with spread beaver, malice mizer, and kagrra. kagrra was the one i got into. 3nodding no malice mizer phase for me )

pierrot: i'm not much into their recent stuff, but i was very into everything private enemy and before that. i like kirito's vocals, and his back stage antics. i think aiji is awesome. i like the music as a whole. i'll admit i also like the fan service. it's cute and very fake. surprised

i like other stuff, but eh.
