Alrighty then...been thinking this over for awhile now, and after much deliberation, thought I would go ahead and write this down for everyone to discuss. 3nodding The cupiding event had a fair amount of behind the scenes debate over various issues (heck, it was our first guild event!), and perhaps to eliminate some of that, we might consider doing the following:
1) Creating a mule for the guild that would act as a mascot. He/she could be named GGoA. (Or we could have both a male and female mascot)
2) The mule would be the one to post each event thread, and would act as our guilds representative for EVERY event, permanently.
3) We could play dress up with the mascot mule! We could hold our dice roll to see who is responsible for being in charge of the mule (and actual thread posting). This person would be in charge of it for the event and would "control" it. They could tektek the outfit, and basically dress it up for the event. The guild could contribute to the outfit with donations, and/or "borrow" what it needs from guild members. Anything purchased can be sold back on the mp, or donated to the guild.
4) Any gifting done to the mascot will just go to the guild.
5) In addition to being mascot for events, the mule could gather gaia event prizes, daily chances, bebo, and be a possible "dress-up" avi for the guild for the arena. (Think about it--if the whole guild contributed to an avi either with items in their inventory, or with donations, you could come up with something really awesome!)
6) The mascot mule itself will have NO gold, and NO inventory (other than what it's wearing). EDIT: The pass could be given to whomever wins the dice roll, and changed with each new event.
7) A profile could be created in the mascot mules name, so if ppl. are visiting the event, and wish to view the profile, it will be about the guild, list members, tell about our purpose, there would be a place for ppl. to leave comments about the event, etc.(The only other way to see/know this is by coming to the guild itself, which.....is probaby discouraged if you are not a member--and why it's hidden *pulls cape over face*.) stare
Well, that's about it--just tell what you think, suggestions, etc.! 4laugh

I also agree this would be a good idea. That way all GGoA events would be consistent and many other things would be less hassling. The only thing I'm worried about is the password. I don't think we should post it in a guild thread; I still think that's too public. Maybe it's just because I've been hacked, but the password to any account MUST BE GUARDED WELL. Maybe instead of posting it somewhere, the person "in charge" of the mule will get handed over the mule and the password from the last person that was in charge of it. Also, someone could change the password from time to time, just to make sure no one else gets a hold of it that we don't want to.
I trust EVERYONE in this guild. But I'm just saying...to be safe, you know?

I was going to suggest something similar to what Purple said about the password. The current "owner" would pass on the password to the next "owner" and they would change it and so forth. I would be really wary of posting the PW in the guild not because I don't trust everyone here cause I do but it just seems a little chancy to me to be that open with it.

With the password, my original thought actually, was to pass it from owner to owner, and have it changed each time. But....I felt that since the mascot would have no possessions--and would have no affiliation with the "real" guild mule--Metal's Mule, it would do no harm to just post it, and have it be a show of good faith, since the mascot would actually belong to the entire guild. On the other hand, there would be no real NEED for anybody else to access it. I'm good either way--just wanted to post the option! Thanks so much for the input! whee

Well, retro, what you say is kinda true, but if we were going to "dress up" the mascot to fit the event, we might use some pretty fancy items (unless you want to restrict that somehow) and I wouldn't want any of that to get stolen.

Verrrrrry true--just wanted to offer options. Thanx! I would say that we would probably want to keep the pass secret, then. That's what's so cool about posting for suggestions and the like--gives everyone a chance to offer their thoughts, and amend and improve upon the ideas. Makes it a real guild effort! 3nodding

Hmmm...don't know fer sure! We will just need to see what everybody thinks, and if the guild approves the idea, then we would have to see how long it would take to put it together! biggrin

I'm new here, so hopefully I won't offend by posting so early. smile I have to agree about the password being private. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I just would feel strange having a password posted. I love the idea of a guild mascot though.

Arghhh... I feel like a brown noser too, but retro discussed this with me and I think it's an awesome idea. It would also make the guild appear more organized and official if it had a "face", or a mascot. And, would eliminate the slight chance of the person posting being hacked-- which was kind of nerve-wracking. *agrees with Purple* If the mule did ever get hacked, all the hacker would get would be what it's wearing, and it would be a loss but we make gold back pretty fast between all of us-- and we could always make a new mule.

Heres my thought with the password... when we role this dice each person has a designated number for the rest of the... say year or their time as a member on the guild, this is also if they so desire to be apart of having the honor of posting the Event thread through this Mascot, which I love the idea... but that the person who wins the dice roll choses their own password and gives the password to whom ever is in overall control of the mule thus only them and that person know it because I would gladly lend an item of mine to it... except I dont want everyone knowing the password... not that I dont trust everyone... you just can never be to careful. thats my suggestion.
