Mangaka: Chi-Ran~Girls' Aesthetics~ Chi-Ran is a mangaka I don't know much about, but I discovered her work through Yuri Hime (previously known as Yuri Shimai). Her works are rather ridiculously pretty to my aesthetic sense.
Like a few other yuri artists, she does seem to have preferred types of girls and identify with certain types of girls, so sometimes her works will seem familiar in some way. This could also be her very distinctive art style, though.
What I've read are all pretty adorable, and while they don't inspire quite the level of "aww" that Morinaga Milk's works do for me, they're beautifully drawn and an excellent read if you like girl on girl.

Not all of her pieces are completely worksafe. The cover of the collection definitely isn't worksafe for nudity, which is why I didn't use it above; it seems to me like it might be a grab bag on the contents rating-wise.
The pieces I've read were scanslated by Lililicious. I think they're doing more of her stuff, so it'd be good to check with them if you're looking for her work. :3 I've heard someone comment that Chi-Ran's works tend to be slightly repetitive. For instance, one girl angsting over her feelings and being confused, while the other, usually longer-haired girl, is extremely perceptive about the feelings of the first, confessions happen and happy ending resolutions occur. On the other hand, happy endings for yuri is pretty good stuff and perhaps not as common as it should be, so I haven't heard anyone complain either. :]
Chi-Ran's girls, like Morinaga Milk's, tend to be very pretty and feminine. That's something else I noticed. Let's stress the pretty again, because...they're really pretty. Moving on.
And I just found out through a search that Chi-Ran also draws yaoi...some of it very explicit. And it's still very, very pretty. XD
Has anyone else encountered her material before? What have you liked or not liked about her work? Any favorite stories, characters, or anything else? I mean, I'm really into the attractiveness of her work overall, and she does throw in some things I thought were adorably realistically down-to-earth. Charming stuff.

EXAMPLE SUMMARIES:
~Girls' Aesthetics~
Her Luck in Love about a high school girl who's in love with her best friend but doesn't want to ruin their relationship by telling her friend how she feels.
Her Temptation tells the story of a closeted high school student. Her older sister is out to the family as FtM transgendered; her family rejected her, and the protagonist feels that she doesn't have the strength to be out to her family and the world. Everything changes, however, when an openly lesbian foreign student transfers to the school.
Her Confession is about a relatively ordinary high school girl who receives a confession from the popular actress who happens to go to her school.
Her Luck in Love A beautiful, popular girl falls in love with a girl from another school, and dresses like a boy in order to be with her. But she's always uncertain about what will happen if her girlfriend finds out.. .
I Want to Become Her A schoolgirl ends up living with the model she admires when it turns out they are very distantly related. She may not be aware of it, but her admiration may be actually more of an attraction.

Don't Make Me Fall For You A girl who's used to attending co-ed schools transfers into an all-girls' school, but is instantly picked as the school's biggest playgirl's new target.
Planet Aimer-Lis has another world where only women live, and one of them comes to pick a bride from Earth, but it might not be as simple as that.
Dream Drops She's in love with a girl she doesn't really know, he gets the chance to buy seven "dream drops" which supposedly will make your dreams come true. They bring sweet dreams every night, and should give you your wish on the seventh night. CUTE ending!

Ah, sorry guys, I forgot to add that the scanslated pieces I'd read were done by Lililicious! If you're after those pieces or more of her work, you might want to start there first. :]
And I edited that into the first post, so.
I also managed to get and read one more of the pieces from the Girls' Aesthetics anthology, which I posted as a summary up there also.

I can, however, reiterate: This thread is based on a mangaka; the specific works she's done (both the anthology and the individual one-shots in it) are listed in the quoted section.
I've also offered the mangaka's name (Chi-Ran) and the name of the group scanslating these works (Lililicious), which should be plenty for anyone to find these. It's really easy--just run a google search for these terms and it should come right up. :]

Her art's really beautiful, and the organisation of her frames is very unique. But sadly, her stories don't appeal to me somehow. confused Still, I continue reading her works; maybe I'll find one I really like (that, and the art is just too..seductive xd )

XD So I think I hear that Chi-Ran has either released several new works, or at least, more of her yuri work is being/has been translated. I haven't been keeping up at all lately, so, anyone else happen to have news? If not, when I get a little time, I'll probably check it out eventually.
Ah, to be young and irresponsible and have time to do stupid things. Well, not that this is stupid.

I may as well updated since I check Lililicious basically everyday for updates -- I'm reading a lot in parallel. xD
Lililicious has released a few new scanlations by Chi-Ran:
1) Hao! and a companion short also under the same title.
2) Himitsu and Shoujo a volume of unrelated one-shots, titles included inside are: Yuri Cage, Dream Drops, Don't Make Me Fall For You and Planet Aimer-Lis.
3) Love and SeX, a one-shot published in Yuri Hime Wildrose 2.
4) Witch, another one-shot published in Yuri Hime, vol 11.
