Yurimm Fairy Tales
by Hozuki Ruri and Shio Sakura

Ever wanted to see your favorite fairy tales with yuri? Here's your chance. Hozuki Ruri (story) and Shio Sakura (art) team up to redo some classic fairy tales girl-love-style, throwing in all-female casts, silliness, and lots of pretty artwork to complete the formula.
Each story in this "series" of tales is only a few pages long, and it's more like an illustrated story than an actual manga. It's an enjoyable read anyway, whether you like manga or reading good fairy tales...or both.
These illustrated fairy tales are released in issues of the yuri magazine Yuri Shimai/Hime and are being scanslated by Lililicious. Four pieces have been scanslated and four others have been translated, I think.
Hozuki definitely tweaks the stories around, though she sticks to the original formulas (not the Disney forms of the stories, I think, it seems like she's going by the original Grimm's, etc. stories). There are some really unexpected parts and endings, and the stories tend to be humorous but also very romantic (if a little insane). While we tend to expect that the princess and the princess will end up together and so on, they sometimes decide that something different should happen instead. Usually, though, this tosses into the pretty yuri fun so everyone's happy. 8D
These are a fun read if you're taking a short break or something, since they go by quickly.

Since most of us should know most of the stories, I don't think I need to summarize these.
As a side note to accompany this, I'll make note that Shio Sakura's girls are gorgeous. She can totally draw sweet, naive innocence, regality, and coy flirting really well. Some of the more boyish of those figures she draws are really hot too--especially the ones, for instance, who were male in the original stories or are just complete lady killers. ;]
Read these? Want to read them? What'd you think? I think every now and then the authors' humor escapes me and then I just think it's silly, but I do enjoy these anyway. They sometimes have very creative takes on the original pieces (and I like that they take from the original stories) and really throw in some unexpected curve balls.
Any stories you want to see them do? And, my favorite question...did you have any favorite characters from these? I know I totally did.
